HR34/C31 black screen

    Hey all,

    First off, I'm a noob here, and new to Direct TV. I just got it installed in our new home on Saturday.

    The installer was configuring the boxes, and it did an update and everything seemed to be okay.

    Then last night our C31's just went black, I power cycled and such and got nothing back. This morning I reset the HR 34 and the C31's came back up.

    So, first silly question. The HR 34 is not yet hooked up to my home network (finally got internet installed yesterday) I'm assuming it has to be hooked up to get the firmware updates?

    Also, do the C31's get internet from the server HR 34, or will I have to run additional cat 5 to those boxes as well to update them?

    Updates come through the SAT feed.
    The Genie supplies internet to the clients.
