RedH Firmware Watcher currently indicates 0x0a05 is the newest software for the HR44-500s.

Just got 0xa72 on my HR54/500 early this morning at 3:48 AM PST here in LA.

Don't know what it did yet.

Most likely just the latest "under the hood" update. ...

That release is for the HR54, not for the Hr44, at least for now..

I received 0x0A72 on my HR44-500 early this morning. My HR44-700 did not receive the same update and is still on 0x0A05.

I figured as much that it was a new NR roll out for all the Genies or at least the HR44 and 54s. That's why I posted it earlier even though mines is an HR54.

Another 44/500 with 0xa72 today. Seems better so far (even while my guide flush is still reloading) than 0xa6f from a couple weeks ago ever was, performance-wise. Still not quite every bit as "snappy" as a05 was, though.

Looks like 0x0A72 is the next NR rollout for the Genies.

I never understood why the fanfare when a new release rolls out since we never get to know what has been fixed, unless of course is one where a new feature is included. I don't mean this in a bad way, just wondering

Because with no release notes other than "Under the hood" everyone can hope that the particular issue they have is fixed.

Or that this will "be the one" to make the HR34 fast.

I don't know, it really does seem that it's gotten slower, at least compared to when I got mine.

But then when I got it from Solid Signal it was on the old UI.

I wasn't saying otherwise, I was saying that expecting the genie to be fast at any point is just wishfull thinking.

Yeah that ain't happening with this SW. We HR34-700 users have to wait for a new lean platform.

Got 0xa72 on the 29th (HR44-700). One thing I've noticed is an intermittent +/- 5-second audio delay when returning from Pause with screen saver. Anyone else having that issue?

I dont know... the newest NR now has a nice little "Connected" notification in the main menu. Good to see at a glance if it is actually connected.

It also seemed to correct prime time A/V stuttering on our HR44-500. Haven't noticed much of a performance hit. Though when it first downloaded, there was a 771 error. A reboot cured that.

Pressing the dash button on your DIRECTV remote will bring up a small window that will display basic receiver information (internet connection status).
