Right, that new section was made more to make the ones that are not connected aware that they could connect to the net foe new features.

Since I got the update on 9/29 on my HR44-700, I've also had the 771 problem intermittently on all premium channels. But only on the Genie. No such issue on my two HR24s. Tested satellite 101, and all OK.

By the way, when you call D* tech support now, the tech asks you if you want support for DirecTV or AT&T. You're told that they are "cross-trained" in both products. That's like being told that one person can provide support for both Apple and Microsoft. All they do anyway is follow a script. Wondering what happens when you ask to talk to a tier 2 tech.

Anyway, my next step is a service call to check outside equipment.

Tried to set up a service call, but the rep refused to do so until she had tried all troubleshooting tasks listed in her script. After 20 minutes of her scrolling through her list with periods of dead silence, I demanded to talk to a supervisor. Put on hold for an additional 10 minutes before hanging up in disgust. Supervisor actually called me back, and scheduled the service call for tomorrow.

P.S. Did a Reset and it seems to have corrected the 771 problem.

I received 0xA72 on my HR44 yesterday morning. Still has the annoying "feature" of automatically playing the next recorded episode of a show in 5 seconds unless you tell it not to.

Getting 771 now. Checked signals and they are 95-100. Went into sat setup and took whatever default options and it eventually showed 6 red X about even and odd polarities. No idea never saw that before except for dish network. Just did RBR.

HR44/200 updated to 0xa72. No longer connected to Internet. HR44 has been connected to wired network since installation over a year ago and has worked flawlessly. Wired network connected directly to back of HR44. Called DirecTV and told wired connections no longer supported. Kept working on my own and got it connected wirelessly. Would strongly prefer wired connection. Any suggestions? Anyone else experienced this problem?

HR44 just completely froze while watching a locally recorded show. Was completely unresponsive to remote inputs. Was about to do RBR when it rebooted itself.

Mine froze also at 5:45 pm watching local news. I now have HR44-500. RBR had to be done with red button. Everything fine now after reboot... Firmware is 0xA72.

I had the delay issue when pausing, ff or rew when I first got my Genie HR44-500, and it drove me nuts!!! I run my Genie thru my Surround Sound, and thru some searching on the net, found an answer....apparently it has to do with the DD thru the HDMI cable. By switching from HDMI to Optical for the Genie output to my SS input for sound, I managed to remove the delays. Today after the new update, the problem resurfaced, but after a couple of hours of audio delays (on HD channels only btw) again when pausing, ff or rew, it now seems ok again....strange???

Also, I'm wired to my router, and still working, so not sure why the Tech would say it's not supported anylonger, unless he meant for Technical support, and not the Genie itself.

    Update:
