Had the new Genie installed yesterday and now I have some questions.

Does it support 5Ghz wireless? I can go wired, but the iPad won't connect as the networks are segregated.

How far away from the C61K does it need to be? The installer put it on the carpet in front of my sub, about 5' away. Obviously, not ideal. Does it even matter since the C61K is wired?

It has been 24 hours should I be worried that On Demand isn't available yet?

Is there a 50 series limit?

It should support 5Ghz but mine's hardwired. The C61K can be anywhere. 24hours? Do the TV apps work? Have you checked the internet connection to see if it's working?

It isn't finding my 5Ghz network only the 2.4 ones. The Scoreguide and Weather Channel Apps work. The installer made a big deal about how far away HS17 had to be from the clients because of interference.

I have one client within 3 feet without interference. On-Demand took quite awhile....48-72 hours.

I think it is 2.4 only. It uses its own 5ghz network for wireless clients

I believe it only connects to a LAN via 2.4GHz, and only uses 5GHz for the wireless video bridge (for wireless clients).

On Demand started to work last night.

My new concern is the C61K keeps "forgetting" that it is connected to a 4K TV.

    Edmond,...
We've had ours for almost 3 weeks . . . outside of a few minor video glitches it seems to be working fine. Much better than our older equipment. We went from an HR34-700,
    HR21-200 and a HR22-100 to the HS17/500 and 3 genie minis.

    I guess I need to update my equipment list . . .

You're not alone. I have two sets and it happens on the LG but not on the Samsung. Others have reported the same thing.

LG seems to have the biggest issue.. Vizio and Samsung the least.. Something to do with a TV start up/box start up handshake time

See if turning in the tv and letting it get fully on then turning in the client helps with this.

My Sony TV is forgetful, too. It doesn't take much to re-check the 4k box, but it is annoying.

make a habit to turn TV first, wait for a minute or two, then turn on the C61k

That's problematic, too, as I have a Harmony remote that turns on both at basically the same time. I could program a pause in, but waiting a minute or two is more of a delay than just re-checking the display box when it happens. I don't even watch those 4k channels all that often.

oh,then you could try to program the delay exactly... perhaps 15 or 30 sec will do that

Doesn't work. Some sets are just troublesome. I have my LG's quickstart feature turned off because of there's a really bad handshake issue where I wind up with a pink screen. Haven't bothered to see if that's fixed with some recent updates to the TV and the C61K.
