I have had the problem of the channels changing on their own ever since I first installed the GCEBO. In my case, it always switches back to the previous channel, just as if I was toggling with the Previous Channel switch. There was supposed to be a software update that would fix the problem on October 18th but, evidentally, it bypassed my home. I have an extra receiver. Although it is an older model, it works fine and never gave me any problems. I'mthisclose to reinstalling it and depositing the GCEBO in the dumpster after I take a hammer to it.

Hello Rusty, Sound like the way I feel about my RCA 485rg. I was really thinking on getting a Hughes GCEBO to replace my RCA until I stated reading the post around here, now it doesn't seem like a very good product either considering all the bugs it has! I guess I have to stick it out with the 485 till there is something that catches my eye thats worth getting.

From what I understand, the Samsung receivers are very good. YMMV.

    Craze,
I went to my local CC last night and was playing w/ one of the RCA units (DD) and it IS 'oh my God' slow. I can't believe they released this recv to the public...

Yea, HarryD tell me about it , I wish had checked one out before I payed real money for it. I would have bought something else besides RCA. It's not at all what I thought it would be! It can be speeded up but you have to reset the reciever every day and then it's not real fast even then.

    Hi Guys,
I turned my GCEBO receiver on at 5:30PM today and was greeted with an on-screen announcement that said that my receiver had received a software update to improve its' operation. I will watch closely and see if the problem of "self toggling" goes away. If it does, then I will go from being a very dissatified owner to a very satisfied one.

Thanks Rusty, for your info. Hope the software update worked for you :) There may be promice for the GCEBO after all, maybe I'll see reason to buy one after all :D Keep me posted on how it worked for you! It's got to be better than my 485rg by rca. Thanks in advance.
