    Fortunately for most people in the New Orleans area, the levees there were not breached, However, in Plaquemines Parish, where the levees were not a part of the post Katrina improvements, it's quite another story. Storm surges pushed over the top of the levees, causing extensive flooding.

    Yeah...have several friends who live in Louisiana...there are some really bad areas of flooding....

    ...following the local TV coverage (which is pretty good) on the special channel that DirecTV activated nationwide for that purpose...channel 325.
