I remember back when Hurricane Ike was coming ashore, DirecTV made a couple of local TV stations in New Orleans and Houston available nationally during their coverage of the storm. Has there been any word of them doing the same thing as Ida comes ashore?

Especially with friends there, those feeds are always a lot more interesting to watch than the national reports.

It's still a Tropical Storm, at least as of 4pm Eastern, with 70mph winds.

As far as the OP's question I haven't heard or read anything but they set the precedent of doing it so I would think they will again should this storm get bigger but it's doubtful that it will I think.
