This is yet another automatic pushout on the H24-100 here coming down fine.

Testing will commence in the morning.

H24 received the push fine while I was watching a show tonight. Had to switch over to the other receiver for a bit while it downloaded, came back and all was working great. I even was able to resume my show via MRV right away ;)

No worries Grentz been there done that. I was just thinking that would be weird and maybe just not right to come back to a recording. ;grin:

H24 push booted to channel 1. When I went to change channels, I got "Welcome to DirecTV MediaShare" OSD.

Video Media Share now works on the H24.

I did not get this OSD on the HR24 and video media share does not work on the HR24.

Here's a video - sorry for shakiness. iPhone is tricky with no tripod and remote in other hand

    Password to view is DBSTalkCE24

Update: Given Smiddy's challenges, I should mention this is EyeConnect running on Mac OSX 10.4.11 Tiger.
Also on the H24, I was able to play music from one server wirelessly (Vuze running on OSX 10.5.8 Leopard) with a WET-610, and photos from another server wirelessly (EyeConnect on 10.5.8), in the same stream.

    H24 pushed as planned.

No go for a push on the HR24. I will wait until tomorrow night and force it if nothing happens. Of note: this HR24 has never taken a push.

    Bainbridge...
Likewise here. Funny thing though--right after I pressed the select button to enable the H24 to download the update a box popped up saying it has lost communication with the HR24. I though this meant that the HR24 had started downloading and perhaps it did, but when I checked ~30 minutes later it was still on 0x390. The first time I tried to send a report the HR24 hung during the process requiring a RBR. Hopefully any useful information wasn't lost because of that. After the reboot I was able to successfully send a report.

I checked this morning, I got the Push last night. Everything seems fine besides a slight HDMI handshake issue upon start-up, will post a key in the issues thread in a bit.

I got home late last night and noticed that both the H24-100 and HR24-500 downloaded the push. After a decent night's rest I went into each to test Media Share and both have identical problems, however the HR24-500 seems to be a bit more robust than the H24-100 in that it takes longer before it locks up. I tried both TVersity and Viiv Media Servers. With TVersity I can not get the STBs to recognize that there are any files in the folder even thought the browse screen indicates that there are indeed photos occupying that folder. In each case of this I tried redoing the Shuffle All and after getting a number of, "There are no files in this folder." errors the STB eventually locks up. Trying to use Viiv I get an entirely different indication. Both the H24-100 and HR24-500 start up serving photos after an initial Shuffle All however that only lasts a little while and the STBs lockup, with the HR24-500 taking longer than the H24-100 to finally lockup. I know this is similar code to the legacy STBs so I will run the same tests on them later today.

I was able to get the downloads of the HDNet Test Patterns, one from channel 306 (MPEG-4) and one from channel 79 (MPEG-2) on each of the three DVRs I have (HR24-500 [HR24 500], HR21-200 [MRANDMRSSMIDDY], and HR20-700 [SMIDDELETTES]). I ran first the MPEG-2 from the MRANDMRSSMIDDY which is hardwired which interfaces to the HR24 500 via DECA through a switch. I never saw anything disruptive or any indications of problem, except that there is a white vertical line on the right side of the screen. I confirmed this on my other TV and through the HR24-500 from MRANDMRSSMIDDY, it is there. Oddly, these are both Sharp sets, the Kid's Playroom set I was unable to adjust the screen (in any direction) to remove it. The Sharp in the living room I was able to, but I opted to leave it as it is. Also, to note, I have both the H24-100 and HR24-500 set to Native On, so I have not compared these to the two legacy boxes to see since I have both of those on 1080i Pillar format. I will do that sometime today amongst my other testing. Anyhow, on the H24-100 I ran the MPEG-4 version from MRSNDMRSSMIDDY and I did get a noticeable jitter effect on a couple of screens. I didn't report this (yet) as I want to reproduce it and be certain I wasn't forcing myself to see something that isn't really there, because it was faint. I haven't run this test on the HR24-500 yet (yet another test to run on it). I also will try testing the H24-100 form the HR24 500 to check plain DECA connectivity for both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 HDNet test patterns.

I am curious if the interactivity is on channel 362 or 101 again on the HR24-500 which hasn't been there yet.

I wonder if I should try testing the remotes (or at least go through the setups) since I haven't done anything in relation to them since I use a Harmony in my living room and instead of putting batteries in ones that came with these, I used ones I've had (which work fine BTW). I have the H24-100 setup as Receiver 4 and the HR24-500 setup as Receiver 1. Each seem to work nicely. (My legacy boxes are setup as the HR20-700 = 00002 and the HR21-200 = 00003).

I noticed a couple of folks are retesting static IP. I hadn't gone back to that on these (yet). I am considering my network design and since I am swapping cable currently to get everything on the network that is needed at one time, I need to get another switch or put in another router to segregate the H24-100 and HR24-500 from the rest of the network. If I do that they will have their own DHCP and only those two items to compete for IP, which might make things easier.

The 2 year old just woke, enough for now (brown cow). :D

    Same here.

All is well on regular operation so far, including DECA, MRV viewing, channel changes, and Static IP (it kept my configuration just fine)....much more testing to still do this weekend.

I will tell you that the H24 has a very durable power button. I can't get my son to leave the dang thing alone. on...off...on....off...on...off...on....off...on...off. He loves the lighted Directv logo on it.

I grabbed the HDNet Test Pattern as well, but only on the HR24 so I can test performance across DECA on the H24.

Quick test locally on the HR24 shows perfect 30SKIP and 6REPLAY

Same here on the H24 MRV playback.

I use 30 second skip virtually all the time, as opposed to FF and REW...so for me anyway, things are looking good on that front.
