A couple of days ago I entered two pictures in the annual Vero Beach Photo Club Juried Photo Contest. Both pictures made the cut and as of today are hanging on exhibit in the Studio Gallery of the Vero Beach Museum of Art http://www.vbmuseum.org/ I haven't heard yet where I am in the rankings but I should be able to find out in the next few days. The entrys are at the web pages below. Both pix were taken with a Nikon CP-990 3MP digital camera. :hurah:

Self Portrait-The Eye Has It. Entered in the "Nature" category

Very nice Richard. I assume the self-portrait is you in the eye of the frog?

Be careful though. Don't artistes tend to the looney left?;)

All kidding aside. Excellent work! :righton:

    Richard,

Nice job! You would not mind if I use the lightning picture on my desktop would you?

    I love that pic!

    The...
Excellent photographs -- from the 'eye of the frog' to the 'eye of the storm', so to speak.

Far better to be hanging in a gallery than on a gallows. I hope you win and don't lose (not loose). ;)

Is that the frog that ate the gecko? Inquiring minds want to know...

Seriously, Richard, congratulations for the recognition of your work! :righton:

The gecko was given his freedom a few months ago. While he was fun to have around for a while, I couldn't help from wondering what he was going to eat running loose (not lose) in the house. Then there was always the possibility that I might one day unintentionally turn him into a smear in the carpet. So, I went on a hunting trip, captured him and released him in my yard. Hopefully he is eating well and enjoying his freedom. :(

The frog was actually sitting on an outside electrical box under a lighting fixture. If you look real closely you can see the reflection of the bottom of the lighting fixture and the building that was directly behind me. Between the building and the lighting fixture you can see the partly cloudy sky.

Congratulations Richard. I especially love the lightning pic. And I have not forgotten you promised me a copy if I come up with the right venue to sell/auction it. :D

We don't agree on politics, but your "lightening strike" photo is spectacular. Congratulations! :eek2:

Just let me know, assuming you come up with a good cause. I will not donate one if you are going to donate proceeds to the election of one of the naive 9 (now 8).

Richard, you are too Evil. I was told my message was to short. Does this satisfy the bot?

Nope, it would either go to help support my church or my local ministers organization. I did just think of one other possibility, and I will let you know if that would work out. :D
