Really feel for the hassle that you are going through. FWIW, I had problems with the new HDs, too. D sent out a tech who replaced the older AT-9 with a new Slimline stating the older dish was defective--probably bad LNBs. Though when I initially contacted D, they said there would be a $70 charge, it ended up being free due to defective dish. Hope this happens for you.

Thanks Ellioc, I appreciate the sense of hope that may be at the end of this tunnel.
I also hope that DTV realizes that this is happening, and stops trying to make it so difficult for their customers to receive "specific performance" when we are all in a contract to begin with.

That raises a good question, say you're using the "standard" barrels...is it gonna be one of those situations where it works or it doesn't? It's not like you'll get a "degraded" signal...right? It's either all or none?

Well, what's the word, Pragmatic? Good to go with all of your missing channels?

    Nope. I have no wallplates.

And, I am not good to go :(

The tech came, dropped off the new receiver capable of receiving the new channels, and left.
He wouldn't replace the dish, re-align the dish, or troubleshoot anything.

He said that his job is not to fix the problem, it was only to drop off the receiver.
Needless to say, getting angry at him did not help anything.

He said that I need to call and have a trouble ticket made. And that I need a 6/4 switch (which makes no sense whatsoever)
I called, and was told that I will be receiving a call back within 72 hours.
