I have no delusions dwcolvin that calling D* corporate is going to speed up the beta testing in any way - LOL. I am calling them simply to search for a more definitive date of when they feel the testing might be completed by. I did this in December regarding the street date that the HR34 would be available to existing customers instead of only new customers. The toll free reps could give me no dates of any kind despite my repeated attempts. One 6 minute phone call to corporate and not only did they inform me of the February 9 release date, but they also went into great detail as to why there was a delay. Again I will report back if I learn any new info.

    NY Hudson...
My opinion here. The HDGUI in its current state is not worst than the SDGUI in its current state - both have lots of issues.

You do realize you're logged into the best source of DirecTV information there is, don't you? :sure:

You can watch any show recorded on any dvr on any receiver, dvr or not, in the house. The only issue is you can't set up new recordings on another dvr if your on a dvr.

The monthly cost for a h25 and a hr24 is identical in your situation. Period.

When you schedule a single recording from one of the H25s it will not let you set any options however if you schedule a series it will use the recording defaults you've setup on the HR34.

It uses the recording defaults you set up on your hr34 for single recordings too.

This happens when scheduling recordings on the internet as well, which is kind of a pain.
When on vacation, I will sometimes set up recordings of NASCAR, F1 or other racing series events. Because you can't add padding and these races (esp. NASCAR) seldom end on time, I have to schedule three hours of following broadcasts so I don't miss the end.
I wish D* would allow the same options as when using the dvr.

The iphone/ipad app gives you the options.
