I love directv

    I know a lot of people tend to bash directv, I have at times myself. But today I called them to check on any specials. I have the Family package and with all my receivers my monthly cost is $74.00. I asked about the choice ultimate package, I use to have an equivalent package before I switched to Family that cost about $114 a month. I was able to get the Ultimate package with hd and Dvr for $84.00 a month tax included. I just wanted to share that because I truly believe that Directv is a customer friendly company and willing to work with people in this down economy. I am and will be a loyal Directv customer.

    You got that right, especially at this forum. I've been with D* since '99. I receive discounts when I pick up a phone and ask for them.

    As a sports viewer, there's no other provider that offers the same amunt of dual-feed HD sports options.

    And yes, I'd like to have more "basic" HD, but I'm getting along ok as is.

    There's always going to be naysayers on forums though. I recall when AMCHD lit up, within 4-5 hours, they appeared again with complaints and negativity.

    Only one thing can cause me to switch away from DirecTV...

    ...and that's if they no longer offerred Sunday Ticket!!! :lol:

    I think I just shed a tear...

    But seriously, as frustrating as they can be sometimes, I've had much better service with DirecTV than any TV provider I've ever had.

    I ordered a new Hd dvr receiver to swap out my old hr21-700 and got my new one today. I was surprised it was an hr22-100 since that one came out in 2008. I was a bit disappointed since I thought I would get an hr24. I called directv because I surely do not want to activate a receiver that is no better than the one I already have. The lady apologized and said it was their mistake and they are sending me one of the new ones. As I said above, I love directv!

    Dont be too shocked if this dsnt happen there is no way to order a specific model from the call center end ....just fyi

    You were right. I called yesterday because I noticed there was not a new order number in my account. She did not even place an order at all. This new guy told me that they cannot specify the receiver that I will get until the hr 34 comes out. He said that when the hr34 comes out people will be able to actually pick that one. I hope that is true. I hate waiting 3-5 seconds every time I try to change the channel.

    That is true because the HR34 is very different, nothing like the others. If you want an HR24, only option is to order one from a reseller that can guarantee it. It will still be a lease.

    I'm a very happy customer as well. But I do not use the word "never" with any company. If DirecTV loses its appeal, and other services are increasingly becoming better, switching is always an option for me.

    But right now.... there isn't any better company out there then DirecTV. At least for me.

    Great provider. Was a sub in 1998, until 2005. Had to move, could not put up a dish, until I moved again and my first call was to them, two years ago. They are hands down, better than our local Time Warner and also better than Dishnet, in my opinion.

    Ditto. I just had my DTV installed in 2009 and I love it. Had COmcast for years prior. (still have them for internet). Never had HD or DVR before DTV, and now .. sadly, I don't think I could ever live without those two things, lol.
    Actually surprised at the lack of outage ever during storms/weather too. It almost has to be a monsoon outside for me to even get a flicker during bad weather. :D

    I've been in bed with Directv since 1997 and I Am Not Going Anywhere As DIRECTV will BURY Dish in 2012!!! :lol:

    I was with Dish Network 1997-2003. Switched to DirecTV then for 2 free DirecTivos and have never looked back since. I love the MRV and SWM technology. I will probably pop for a HR34 when they become available for existing customers.

    Its funny that today my father in law stopped by because he was at the Comcast office near me. He is going through all sorts of problems with them both billing errors and bad picture quality. Some nights he cannot watch TV. I told him 15 years ago to switch to satellite but he won't do it. He was fuming today but all i could do was smile and say good luck!
