I did not see the list in one place, on the Dish site they are in 4 groups:

    - Sports:
    ESPN2 HD
    HD Net
    TNT HD (NBA)
    World Sport HD
    Rush HD

    - Entertainment:
    TNT HD (dup from sports)
    Discovery HD
    Equator HD
    Animania HD
    Game Play HD
    Family Room HD

    - News & Variety:
    Gallery HD
    HD News
    Treasure HD
    Ultra HD
    HD Net (dup from sports)

    Universal HD

    - Movies:
    HDNet Movies
    Monsters HD
    World Cinema HD
    FilmFest HD
    Kung FU HD (Martial arts)

.. Thats 22 channels. And add

    HBO HD
    SHO HD

    .. Thats 24 channels

    So this makes 25
    PPV HD

So it is really 22 and 24 + PPV

The Dish HD website needs fixed if they are going to break out the channels by category. You see in your list that HD Net and TNT are listed under 2 categories, and they did not include Universal HD, and yes they count the PPV channel as a channel, even though you have to pay extra to receive virtually everything on it.

They're still Voom, he was referring to their unresolved HD Lite status.

The EKB has the HD channels in one place, though not categorized, at http://ekb.dbstalk.com/hdchan.htm.

Anything over 480p is technically HD, the Lite issue has been beat to death for both E* and D*, no need to keep kicking a dead horse...

The output of the receiver is 1920x1080i or 1280x720p ... HD.

The FCC uses the ATSC definition of HD for OTA but DOES NOT apply that to satellite. The only requirement that would apply in any way to satellite is the receiver output.

Everything on satellite is going to be compressed in some way. What is important is what comes out of your receiver and what you see on the screen.
