Only if you CANNOT receive DIRECTV programming. Otherwise, no NFLST for you.
Pretty much same here - for now.
I also forgot to mention the bad taste left after subscribing and finding out I could not get an HR box with OTA HD. It was three months later before I was able to get an AM21 and had to pay for it. I have no loyalty to DirecTV, only a contract.
DTV needs a HD only package.
I wouldn't go with DISH if they were the only way to watch TV.
I don't Dish adding HD channels that DirecTV has had for many months would make me think of switching.
Oh, and Sunday Ticket.
Besides, I will *never* switch to Dish and have to put up with Charlie's games. I'll switch to Charter before I switch to Dish. *shudder*
Speaking only for me, there are many reasons to be with DirecTV.
The total number of HD channels is only a very small part of it.
I can't see any reason to swith...at least for now.
The idea that a provider can't give me all the RSNs I qualify for makes it difficult for me to consider said provider.
And that's where I have to give DISH props. I'm forced to pay for SD channels that I just remove from the Guides from my HD DVRs, while Charlie takes a risky stance, but one he knows will be popular, and says, "Don't pay for SD channels you don't want to watch". I'd love to jump on that and maybe some day DISH will have enough to make me jump. Not quite there yet.
I would NEVER switch.I am extremely sports oriented. And D's sports channels & sports premiums are what I want. They will eventually get the HD channels everbody's screaming for.So why go through the trouble of switching ?I can wait.
What does tick me a bit is all this upconvert so called HD.At this stage of the game there is NO reason each and every game is NOT produced in real HD !
I would rather watch the SD versions than that. They need to get with it.
I was with Dish from 1997 to 2003. I was a big fan of Charlie and the way he ran his company, but things change. I spent over a thousand dollars on Dish equipment but when it was time to upgrade, no break at all. DirecTV gave me 2 DirecTivos and later upgraded me to HD for free. I think I paid $99.00 for my HR20 and then upgraded me from a 10-250 to a HR21 for free.
I love the SWMline dish and the additional features and channels they continue to add.
I don't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon.
Who ever gets full multi room viewing in SD and HD first is who I will stay with.
RIght now it sounds like that might be DirecTV, although my cable is now also working on a solution.
Sunday Ticket got me hooked, DBSTalk and the CE program (along with ST still) keep me coming back.
They just added HD channels D* pretty much have. So that and just because I would never switch, I won't switch.
Only reason to leave would be $$$.. And if it came to that I'd just goto OTA only..
No MLB Network, no MLBEI, no Dish.
I think most providers have enough HD to keep me happy. In six months my contract is up and I will shop around for the best bundled price. I kind of feel like my free agency is coming up.
mlb extra innings
