If you are having caller ID issues try this. Earl says to try these things, and if it still don't work then post your info in here in the following format.

I have seen a few posts from people still having issues with Caller-ID with this release.

When you have a chance.... PULL THE PLUG.
Seriously... instead of just a reset of the unit, actually pull the power to the unit.

Let it sit for about 30s or so.

During that time, make sure you are using a good phone cable, and everything is connected snug in your jacks.

Then restart the plug the unit back in.
Double check that you have notifications turned on. (and for kicks...turn then off... save... then go back and turn them on again).

If that still doesn't bring the caller-id back...check some DSL filters or other filters that maybe on the line.

If that still doesn't bring them back.

    Report with this information:
    • What type of phone service you have (POTS or VoIP or Digital Cable or ...)
    • Who is the carrier
    • How many times is the phone line split between your incomming "box" and the wall jack you are using
    • Do you see entries in the caller-id LOG, and there is no display?
    • Are you getting the "You need the service" message dialog
    • Anything else that may be specific to your setup

Cutting Edge releases are not to be talked about outside the Cutting Edge forum.

People not using Cutting Edge releases are not supposed to post in Cutting Edge forum.

Get over yourself. This is great info for anyone having caller id issues regardless of what release they're on.

The first rule of the Cutting Edge club is, you do not talk about the Cutting Edge club.

The second rule of the Cutting Edge club... :)

(I'm sure that joke has been made before, but it's still funny)

The Caller ID issue has nothing to do with CE Club it is a problem that a vast majority of people have. And if if a person was looking to gather some info about an issue so he could submit it to the appropriate people to work on fixing it, then the more info from more people with the problem, will be better off in the hopes of getting it resolved.
Also if the tips to try and get the Caller ID help anyone get there Caller ID woring what is the harm in that?
I have edited the 2 posts I made like this and removed anything pertaining to CE and took down the link to the thread to submit the issue if tips don't work and they can post reults here.

Well, I tried all of this and it started working, since it actually took another day or 2 to start working I'm not really sure which of the steps was the clincher (most likely the direction of the DSL filter). However, a few days later it stopped working! I went into the call log and deleted some calls and it started again...... do we have to manually delete each call for it to continue to work?

That Caller-ID stuff wasn't specifically for the CE...
But was posted in the CE, because of the latest "posts" of people continuing to have Caller-ID issues...

When my log hits 25 I think it stops working. I go in and clear out the old message and bingo it starts working.
