I didn't see this posted yet so sorry if it's already been covered.

If you're a race fan but not necessarily a Nascar fan, call D* customer service and request they add this netowrk. Wouldn't hurt, would it?:)

I'm a race fan and a fan of NASCAR. Am I allowed to watch this channel?

I'd sooner watch Paris Hilton giggle. Can I send a letter begging them to spend the bandwidth elsewhere ?

After reading the description of the channel, I would just as soon do without it. Given I had a choice between this and another shopping or church channel, 'The Racing Network' would win hands down.

See. Once you play the race card, things go downhill from there.

We have the Speed Channel already and I bet no one watches half of it. I rather see them add the Ocho!

Though I' always up for some odd racing such as The Hill climb.. I just watching them crash.

I want it. Just for the fact they MIGHT carry Rally, which may include WRC which I miss sorely.

Already called them, but as I posted on the forum over at racingnetwork.com the CSR had a hard time understanding why I wanted a channel that doesn't exist yet...

But with D* sports focus, it would only make sense they would carry it, assuming it comes to fruition.

As far as I'm concerned, it's better than adding religion or shopping. I'd watch it.

I'd just assume they make it FTA like folks have told me Speedvision was when it first started. Then if it has some buzz attached to it maybe one of the Majors will pick it up.

SPEED is a sad excuse for a motorsports channel, unless you like NA$CAR 24/7 with some dumb reality shows thrown in. :(

There is a whole other world of motor racing out there. I used to love the Jetsprints from Aussie-land. And DTM,Rally, Euro Truck Racing. I miss Motorsport Mundial too...:)

I wish Jim the best of luck, I am ready for a REAL racing channel. :D

Seems like a dubious venture. The numbers just are not there.

I love all motorsports and yes, I am a huge NASCAR fan as well, but spare me the NASCAR fans can't be fans of other series. I happen to drive in SCCA in New England and love to watch DP racing. IRL and Champ are good, not an F1 guy.

Speed channel changed to its audience. Back in the day showing live races at 4am (they still do this) was not going to pay their bills and they had to evolve to what their viewers wanted. They obviously found their audience, according to Nielsen research, ratings this year are the highest since its inception (I'm sure the Nextel all star challenge race helped it). The ratings for Craftsman Truck Series racing are higher than the DP class races, does not mean that CTS is better racing than Daytona Prototypes, its just a fact of the ratings beast. If I had my way, I'd show each and every local IHRA drag race on TV, Sat night dirt races and let's go crazy and add in a tractor pull.

IMO, a new racing network that is anything NON-NASCAR is NOT a good idea. You should really do it right, cover all motorsports thinking that your viewer is not tied to anyone racing series at any time and would prefer to dive deeper into the world of motorsports. I'm sure IRL fans would love to create a new racing network for NON-CHAMP CAR fans or vice versa

Just bring it! We need all the new and different channels we get. I wish they would expand into more XM channels too! Hey when bandwith is used up they'll launch more sats or convert everyting to MPEG4. That will mean free equipment upgrades.

Well I don't like the NFL so lets gain a bunch of bandwith by getting rid of the NFL games!!

I watch Speed a lot, I watched it a lot more before they became the NASCAR channel, I'm all for another racing channel.

 To each his own, hence the hundreds of channels of offerings these days. I gotta say, though, I don't get anime (mentioned above somewhere). Japanese cartoon soft porn - what's the point ?

Before FOX bought 'em and turned 'em into a mostly NASCAR channel, SpeedVision was the 1st channel I checked when I turned on the TV. I'm not a big fan of the roundy-round racing, but I love road racing. And they showed all kinds of interesting odd stuff like lawnmower and snowmobile racing. Airplane races. Rallies.
