    Looks good!

Let us know what's up with the HR20-100. You followed its special instructions, right?

Yes I followed the special instructions. It appears that the current CE software does not provide power.

Filter installed at PI output. No noticeable change in signal strength.

Busy day and cautious ... so going one step at a time.

After reviewing the First tests in the documentation I noticed that 2 of the DECAs have a solid orange C.LINK led. (H21-100 & Router)

Except for the HR20-100 which does not power up all appear to be functioning.

NOTE: Issue resolved. One of my cables had a poor compression fitting.

It is "safe" to put it there....with the PI power out right at that location?

It appears to be (accroding tot he drawings...but I'm thinking in terms of power shooting right into the filter itself that closely.

How do you have it hooked to the HR20-100?

So what kind of signal strength levels are you getting compared to before the install?

Also, how is the MRV working (breakups...less/better....)?

I did but when it would not power up I removed it and reconnected the HR20-100 to the hard wired network

Since I tend to forget about how something "should work":
Try rebooting the DVR [could be why we've seen tuner #2 issues].
Next, I'd connect it [normally] to SAT #1. Maybe yours is crossed wired and #1 has power.

As much as I hate sounding like a pitch man for Staples I have to say "that was easy!".

After setting it all up the only thing I can say so far is I hope the docs we were sent weren't meant to be a step by step. I would hope they'd want us to install the filter first, not last.

    Here's what I did...

    1. Powered everything down
    2. Hooked up the filter
    3. Hooked up the DECA between my switch and my SWM8
    4. Hooked up the DECA to my HR21-700 and booted it
    5. Powered up the DECA hooked up to my switch
    6. Hooked up the DECA to my HR21-100 and booted it
    7. Hooked up the DECA to my H21-100 and booted it
    8. Enjoyed the fact that I now have 2 open ports on my switch

I'll be checking signal strengths now.

Oh, and man they weren't kidding when they said it could take the DECA 3 to 5 minutes for it to find the DECA network. It may have taken even longer when I booted my HR21-700.

Another thing to note... When a new receiver joins the network the C.LINK LED will start to flash orange on all units again.

I have my filter right on the PI output as well. Doesn't seem to cause any problems at all.

I did try a reboot but it did not help. Since the documentation says that the HR20-100 cannot provide power and communicated with the SWM at the same time I think I will wait on your second suggestion.

For those wishing to help share information that may be used for the First Look piece...which will be constructed over the next several weeks....

There is now a separate thread to report your (detailed) signal strength results for "before and after" comparisons.

Also, there is now also a separate thread to report on your MRV results for "before and after" comparisons.

If you have the details listed...please report those 2 items in those 2 threads.

    Thank you!

At first my H21-100 wasn't showing any recordings from any DVR's. I checked my signal strengths and came back to the playlist, still no recordings. I re-ran network setup and now it's working fine.

Installation was a breeze. I left all receivers on during installation and all playlists came up with no reboooting of the IRDs. So far I have not seen any difference in signal strengths.

For grins, I put the PI DECA scenaio upstairs and left the upstairs switch in place with the R22-200 also hardwired to the same switch. That switch is uplinked to the router.
The H21-200, HR20-700, and HR21-200 all got the DECA uplink and everything is working as expected.
