Me too... 99% of the time. Once in a great while, it will behave as the OP describes.
I am not sure if we're allowed to tell you to become a member of the iamanedgecutter site and learn the rules there and that is where you can communicate bugs directly to Directv. This site is picky about discussing CE (cutting edge) software, I was hesitant in posting it about the logos above.
He isnt on CE software so it would be irrelevant anyway
It's not a big deal. I just have to be very careful when using the guide.
iamanedgecutter is a good place to go if you want to help DIRECTV develop their software. The experience can be frustrating when DIRECTV doesn't do exactly what an end user demands. One has to remember it is DIRECTV's program - you are doing their work - they are not working for you.
When the Cutting Edge was on our site we discouraged discussion of CE outside of the specialized forums. Primarily because there was a place for that discussion (the CE forums) where DIRECTV was involved but also because all the testing talk confused non-testers. People discussing features not released that may never be released and often insulting DIRECTV and the process. Not the purpose of letting customers test.
If he joined the site and learned and followed the rules, like I said, he certainly could become on CE software. I am and I see the issue occasionally as well. I will be nice and report it next time it happens.
I agree that if there is a place for CE, discuss it there. But to ban any mention of it outside of there is extreme. It seemed to be that way for a while. There will be the occasional mention of it in natural discourse.
I miss the logos. Why did they remove them?
I liked them also I’m not sure Why they got rid of it people claim that it’s slowed the software down but I never noticed
I just got to my parents house and my dads HR54 has this box as well. A reset fixed the problem. I have not experienced this box on my HR44 (both on national software releases).
It seems to occur randomly on my HR44. It's just very irritating when it does.
I've had this happen a handful of times, even on the previous firmware, and it has continued now with 0x1420. Probably 2 times since.
Same as others have mentioned, sometimes if I exit the guide while I have the channel name highlighted and that pop up is on, it'll stay, forcing a reboot. It doesn't happen every time tho. I've just been making sure I clear that pop up before I exit the guide if I accidentally do make it pop up.
Not a major problem or anything, but really annoying when it does happen.
HR54/700 btw. Haven't had it occur on the HR24/100. Yet, lol
