I’ve recently joined Amazon Prime and I’ve never had a problem with the 2-Day delivery. I think that the Prime Membership it’s good value for money. I have a lot of purchases from there so I’ve been trying to find a way to create a digital inventory of all of them where I can include all the information that comes with each purchase. I’ve come across an Amazon purchase tool called Unioncy (www.unioncy.com) that automatically creates a catalogue of all my belongings. I’m curious to hear if anyone else has tried and can share their experience? Seems to be quite useful to me.

Not when the gift is something that just popped up as one of Amazon's Gold Box deals. One can't plan for that.

So ... did you already have something different purchased more than five days in advance and decide that the "gold box deal" was better or were you waiting until the last minute to buy the gift? :)

From the Amazon Prime Terms and Conditions:

    Shipping Benefits
Prime members are entitled to two-day shipping and other discounted shipping benefits on select ship options, such as One-Day. Availability of shipping benefits depends on inventory availability, order deadlines, and in some cases the shipping address.
One-Day Shipping and Two-Day Shipping are terms we use to determine your estimated delivery date (and do not reflect product availability or our estimated shipping date).
Two-Day, One-Day and Same-day shipping apply to business days. Our carriers usually do not pick-up or deliver packages on weekends or holidays though Saturday and Sunday delivery are available for certain locations.
We may ship the products by ground or air at our discretion. (These terms do not correspond to any carrier-branded shipping services.)
We do not guarantee delivery of products within the estimated transit time or by the estimated delivery date.

It was kind of a little of both, James. This friend had helped me out with something important not too long ago, so I had mulled over getting him something for his birthday. A gift card was what I was going to originally get him, but then this unique item that I know he loves shows up on a big deal, so I jumped at it.

Amazon really needs to rewrite either that or stop stating in other locations (and in their shipping notification Emails) that "guaranteed delivery date is...", because there is contradictory information being disseminated.

    I've never had issues.

Maybe you should look into upgrading the ion engines on the TIEs so they get the packages to you faster up on the Death Star.

Whenever I tried to order through Prime, granted if its Prime eligible orders, I always order early in the day so that it gets shipped the same day, then receive it the next day. In that practice is one day shipping.

I joined Prime last month. So far with 4 orders with the Prime symbol, they all have taken about a week to get to me in Denver. Three were shipped via UPS Surepost service and the 4th via plain USPS First Class. 2 took 2 business days after the orders were placed to ship, the other 2 were after 1 business day. I'm a little disappointed in it and thought I would get items quicker.

If you selected free shipping, you received your packages as advertised. If you paid for next day, complain.

How could they have taken "about a week" when you said they arrived in 2 business (delivery) days?

I ordered a $10 crow bar from Amazon yesterday around noon with Prime free two-day shipping.

It arrived at my house in California this morning, shipped from Kentucky yesterday.

Roughly six orders since I joined Prime; two came in one day, three came in two days, and one took three days. I am a happy camper. :joy:

I've been amazed at the things I've ordered around 4pm and arrive by noon or so the next day. Didn't expect it.

I did order a $3.09 LED lamp under Prime - no shipping - it came from China in 18 days. But 3.09 and China!!

Huh? I said that they SHIPPED in 2 business days after I placed the orders.

"2 took 2 business days after the orders were placed to ship, the other 2 were after 1 business day."

I can top that. I had ordered a couple of items on a Sunday. The expectation was that they would sip out on a Monday, and arrive on Wednesday. Boy, was I surprised that they shipped out of Fernley, Nevada on a Sunday evening, and arrived Monday afternoon at where I work.

Their business day doesn't start at midnight your local time. It seems to be more like late afternoon. So if you order early in the evening, you can forget it if you're thinking you're in day one of the shipping.

    Darn Amazon!
I ordered 3 items on Monday afternoon just before 6pm and UPS delivered all 3 of them yesterday (Tuesday) in the snow.

I paid for 2 day service but yet Amazon insist on delivering my items in 1 day... :p
