Is dish going to buy hulu?

    Unless Disney/ABC, News Corp and NBCU (51% owned by Comcast) are willing to guarantee content availability for a decade it isn't worth it.

    When the time comes for re-licensing it'll be a nightmare.

    What he should have bought was TiVo way back when I said it was ripe for takeover! And all their patent suits against the planet would have been Charlie's, DISH's all gone and we'd have timers, a GUI and a guide that would work.

    Hulu is an alternative to Netflix, so the studios should be behind it - especially with a major pay-TV provider running it. I think it fits in line with DISH Network's existing infrastructure, and can be a staging point for them to launch further streaming initiatives.

    They may be - but Hulu's infrastructure is Flash based. For a company who is so against Flash, I don't know.... on the other hand, DISH Network already partners with Hulu so it would be a good fit.

    This is the kind of thing that should be blocked by the FTC.
