my parents dvr got 2F4 and I noticed that multiroom dvr was automatically turned on!
I do believe that is the server side, not the client. Most likely to exclude DVRs to share their content.
MRV has not been enabled in the NR... despite what the menu option defaults to.
Well, "half of it" has been....
Why does the menu option exist?
Are you sure you are not covering up the truth?
To exclude IRDs from being servers on the network.
"coming soom" could also be there.
There are two parts to MRV, one is the server [which you see] and the other is the client which you don't have [yet].
Because it will eventually have the ability... it just doesn't function right now.
Feel free to give it a try...
Dang, he's on to us.
but why did the menu option default to on?
Purely speculation here... But probably so when everything is ready to go, the user won't have to do anything for it to be working.
So that if/when you get "part 2" you're closer to having it work.
if I turned it off would directvtopc quit working?
No. That option does not have any effect on DIRECTV2PC.
is the server code in the NR?
Yes and has been since previous NRs.
then why did the menu option to enable or disable it just now show up?
Because you just got the new NR, as noted in post 1.
DIRECTV receivers do not currently support Multi-Room Viewing ..
