I need to connect an eSATA drive to my HR24. My internal HDD is the one I mainly use for recordings and playback. Will the internal drive function normally after the eSATA drive is disconnected? No recording will be lost off the internal will they?

The internal HDD should be just fine
    while an eSATA is used.
Be aware though that a power dropout could cause the DVR to boot to the internal drive. A UPS for both the eSATA and DVR would be a good thing.
