I'm interested in purchasing a used Dish receiver listed in this section. If I did and activated it is it mandatory to also pay the extra fee for DVR? Really dont need that function but like the looks of these receivers. Or is the DVR fee automatically added into my bill?? Thanks....

DVRs incur the DVR fee whether you use the functionality or not.

Caution: the current AT&T management will not allow any (leased or Owned)receiver to to be activated on another account --Other then the org owner account--Beware!

However the Dish will be no issue for you --just call 1-800-531-5000 and save yourself some problems

Fortunately, AT&T policy hasn't spread to DISH.
