Is there any way to program a DVR to STOP recording BEFORE the program ends?

    Is there any way to program a DVR to STOP recording BEFORE the program ends?

    I found the place to start the program early or to end the program late but I cannot find any way to stop the recording early.

    Several news programs just repeat. There is no reason to have two hours of the early ABC news for example. I would like to just record one hour but cannot figure out any way to do that.

    Set it up as a manual recording. You can set start and stop times to what ever minute you like.
