Checked SciFiHD this morning, as the DVR is set to record the rest of the Season 3 repeats that are running today.

Letterboxed SD as of 7:30 am PST. Damn it!!!

All the BSG I have seen up to this point was HD. Maybe it'll "switch over" at some point?

It bugs me a little bit I guess but not as much as it bugs some of you.

The only time it bugs me is when it obscures something of importance from the show, like sub-titles or too much of the screen. Our local CW affiliate is the worst around here. They advertise shows and have contests during shows. They end up using almost a quarter of the screen with pictures and phone numbers to call and they keep it up on the screen for quite a while. Very frustrating and annoying. I also hate the ones that have sound. I remember when Fox was promoting King of the Hill and all of a sudden you would hear a lawn mower and then it showed Hank riding across the screen on his mower, right in the middle of a show!

It is funny you should say that. In one of the recent eps of Bionic Woman, the one where Jamie and 'Becca go to the spa in Montana (yeah, that was believable), they are in their room watching an ep of Heroes on a gigantic HDTV.

Better yet, have them run the pop ups in the black space of SD shows.

    I'm joking of course.

I really hate those popups. On a related note, sporting events are loaded with graphics all over the place. I think they really take away from the view of the field, the court, the sidelines, you name it. It is almost like they have out "COOLED" themselves. And I agree, (for network Primetime) it is just going to get worse with all of the DVR's out there.

I like to watch my hometheater over Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. At least I know I'm going to be able to see the show.

At some point people will get tired of it and it will go away. It all reminds me of that old SNL skit where they popped up so much stuff you could barely see the newscaster.

Well to be honest I never considered it is there because of people skipping through comercials. Heck we just got skip on your HR20's. I think they are just trying to generate more revenue.
