According to tvsquad.com and others, NBC has officially let the option expire on new episodes of Journeyman. They are going to bring back Medium instead.

Golly I hate Medium. I hate the commercials!

I have always admired the shrewd intelligence of network programming execs. :nono2:

Every time I think of that show I think of this quote from the incredible Ernie Kovacs:

"Television: A medium. So called because it is neither rare nor well done."

Not that there is much hope left, but with the writers strike continuing, it's not entirely surprising they didn't get a back nine. The only hope at this point is a return in the fall, but yeah, that's tenuous at best these days .. Highly unfortunate because it was an excellent show. There are two episodes left .. both will be shown next week.

I love Medium (especially the depiction of a fairly normal family life--the kids aren't one-liner specialists--the parents actually like each other) and look forward to its return, but I really like Journeyman too. I thought this week's episode left lots of room for story growth involving several characters, and boded well for some interesting episodes to follow.

+1. I like both shows and don't want either sacrificed for the other.

I'm okay with Journeyman leaving, never liked the show that much.

As for Medium coming back, I can't stand that show. Some shows on NBC are so good, but they have a lot of crappy ones as well. I miss the good ole days of NBC dominance, but it doesn't look like they'll be back in that position any time soon.

+1 ... hopefully there is enough support to get Journeyman over to Sci-Fi, especially when Galactica finishes its series run next year.

As long as Fox continues to ram "American Idiot" down our throats, everyone else will continue to struggle. (I hate Fox sports this time of year - a million promos of AI during a ball game)

NBC has NOT announced a final decision on either Bionic Woman or Journeyman (per Variety though things don't look good) and Medium has always been scheduled for a January return...

There will be considerable pressure on NBC on Monday night because their lineup of Chuck, Heroes and Jorneyman have all run out of episodes due to the writers strike.

Part of Journeyman's problem is that it is produced by FOX. Bionic Woman is produced by NBC so if it came down to those two shows, Bionic Woman may have an edge.

Maybe NBC is going to go back and really look at what the possibilities are .. Personally, between the two, I think Journeyman has the most growth potential.

Well the writing on the wall has been there for a while, Journeyman is a great show and I hope it's released on DVD, I'd love to watch all the episodes again.

I'm sorry to see Journeyman go; I like the show. I tend to like any show that has a time travel element built in.

Good news is; I'll have an open spot for a new series link....I'm at the 50 limit.

I just read this over on TV Guide that Journeyman wasn't picked up for the rest of the season. I guess, technically, there is still hope for more episodes, but very doubtful. It's a shame because I started out strong on this show, kind of dropped it, then came full circle and really got into it again just in time for it to be over. Oh, and I HATE Medium!

This may be the first time BIH is shouted here at the revamped TV Show talk forum, but I think this situation is worthy of it ...

    Burn in hell, NBC!

I really hope NBC reconsiders and brings it back - I really enjoy the individual journeys each week, the mythos being developed behind the travelers (why? why them?) and the inter-relational drama between the brothers and the affects the traveling has on the family.

This show has such potential to find a larger audience if only NBC lets it ...

That's a shame about ending Journeyman, i really liked the show. far as Medium, for me i didn't care too much for it. for me it looked more like a copy of "Ghost Whisper" that CBS has.

Actually "Medium" started the season before "Ghost Whisperer".
