After being a solid DTV subscriber for 5 years now, and have had DTV service off and on since they first launched, I'm calling tomorrow to cancel. I've been testing out DTV Now for the past week and it's exactly what I need, I get all the channels I watch, the DVR works fine, and I've not had a single issue (so far) with the quality of service, and I even think the PQ is slightly better or at least equal to DTV Satellite.

My current DTV bill is $120/mo. DTV Now will run me $55. Considering I already pay for top-tier 1TB/mo internet, and already subscribe to Netflix/Amazon/Hulu, I'm still saving $65/mo. When football season is over and I drop down to the lower DTV Now plan, I'll be saving $80/mo.

The only way I'll keep the satellite service is if they do what they did last year when I called to cancel. Told them I was switching to a live-TV streaming service, they gave me 12 months of DTV at $35/month. If they offer something like that again, I'll stay.

Over the top live TV streaming is the next step in cable TV delivery for those that have the internet bandwidth to use it. (That is, until OTT becomes overpriced like traditional cable TV is now.)
