I just called DirecTv and wanted to make sure I pay for the package all in 1 payment at $279. I called and asked them if they would make sure to include the Superfan package. At first the agent didn't want to give it to me for free. I kept telling him to include superfan for me for free this year and I got it. All it takes is some persistence and to tell them you want superfan free. I got it and it's already showing Superfan $0.00 charge on my account online along with NFL Sunday Ticket for $279. I'm getting that paid for on my June Bill. If you want Superfan for free you're almost going to have to demand it be free. That worked for me last year in 2008 and this year in 2009.

Somehow I doubt you got it free. We will wait and see but my money says that you get charged for it when the season starts. Nothing against you just doubt it was that eassy and I dont think that you can order SuperFan yet. It shows as $0.00 on my bill to but that cause I am set to auto renew. Time will tell but I think you got duped.

I called in June or July last year and got SF for free but since it wasn't on the D* computors yet. The csr had to give me the $99 plus tax as a credit .

Until it's actually available for purchase I wouldn't count on getting it for free (nor would I try). Once it shows up for purchase then call away.

If I can get the redzone channel for $100 or less, then there will be no need for me to purchase the sunday ticket. Supposedly, comcast will be offering their customers the redzone channel for $7 per month.

Yeah, there is talk of COMCAST adding RZ Channel to the sports tier programming package. This would be great IF it is in HD.

I hope that is indeed how easy it was for you, but since it isn't even available in their system to order yet....I'm a little skeptical.

Yes I got Superfan free for this upcoming 2009 season. The Agent kept telling me that it looks like he wouldn't be able to give me the Superfan Free because it looked like they were going to be charging $99 for it. I told him That I got it free last year and he told me he would see what he could do. he came back seconds later and said he had spoken to his supervisor and said he got me Superfan free. My Package is secured for 09' Your's can be too if you are persistent and tell them you WANT Superfan free and that you aren't going to pay if it is $99.

:DI just called in to ask what the auto renew price was for ST since I know that $279.99 is the Early Bird Deal and $299.99 will be Full Price. Normally Auto Renew is $20 cheaper than Early Bird, according to the agent I spoke to, he said Auto Renew was $275.94 or something....ONLY $4 cheaper than Early Bird. So I asked about SF, he said it was $99, so I said cancel it, he asked "Superfan?" I said "NO, the whole thing"! "Sorry, a regular agent can't cancel this I have to send you to a specialist", yeah I know here comes retention... The gal in retention was VERY nice, and asked what the issue was? I explained that I hate SD and only watch HD, but $374.94 ($275.94 + $99.00) was just too much, I was very pleasant. She asked "if I could get you SF for free would that keep you as a ST sub?" I responded honestly "Yes, it would". She couldn't find the offer, so she got a supervisor, BAM, free SF. The other thing that was interesting, I told her to add the one payment for ST today, it didn't show $275.94, it shows $269.94? Anyone else see a different price so far?!?

I have not seen any pricing for the aut renew. I have asked the price for it several times but no one seemed to know. We should know for sure in about another month.

RZC is an all day channel where they jump from game to game showing all big plays, turnovers, scoring, etc. And will follow a series or so in the "red zone" of a given game, as long as no other "huge" plays are going on elsewhere.:D IT'S HEAVEN!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. Frankly, I'm surprised that the NFL (and D*) would tolerate any channel that could, even remotely, be seen as a competitor to the Sunday Ticket cash cow.
