Second time calling in, and this time, they gave me free superfan and 10$ off for six months, plus free cinemax for 3 months, so I took that. Good enough deal for me!

I was told this last year as well. When the season started and billing time came I was charged full price. When I called to ask them about it they said they had no record of such a deal.

I got shafted on about 3 seperate occasions last year with D-TV and NFLST and SF. I was supposed to get games in HD and the onces I wanted never did show up (showed up in Standard Def though so they thought this was good enough) Called and complained and was promised discounts and never got them. Again called and they claimed they had no record of it.

Cant wait until my 2 years are up so I can ditch this turd without having to pay for the equipment.

NFLST showed up on my bill today, so I called in to cancel. CSR said she had to transfer me to someone in order to cancel. This is where it gets funny. Sir, what if I give you $5 off for 6 months? No thanks. Sir, what if I give you $10 off for the next 6 months? No thanks. Sir, what if I give you $20 off for the next 6 months? No thanks. Sir, what if I give you $20 off for the next 6 months, free Superfan, free Showtime, free DVR service for 6 months? Sold! I don't really even watch the stupid games. It's just that she was so persistent, I felt I had to reward her for her efforts. :)

    Tobacco...
Just got off the phone and they started down that path as well. "Sir, if I offered you $10/month for 6 month......NO.....Sir, if I offered you $20/month for 6 months....NO, etc, etc, etc".

She kept offering to which I kept saying that I wasn't interested since the price is really getting crazy and I really don't have the time but thanks for the offer. I told her to please cancel it and QUIT OFFERING ME DISCOUNTS. With an 2 year old and another due in the fall, I wouldn't get much football watching done anyway.

One less NFLST sub. I'm sure I am going to miss it, but I saved some $$$ in the process which is good these days.

easy as pie...called to cancel the NFL ST...her first offer was SF for free and $20 off my bill for 6 months (so ST would be $25 for 6 months instead of $45 for 6 months)...

note that I subscribe to the top tier and have all the pay channels (with the exception of playboy)...not sure if that makes a difference...been a customer since 1998 or so...

don't know what the baby channel is...maybe I should re-state: I have 4 HD DVRs and get HBO, Showtime, Ckinemax, Starz, Encore, ...etc all the premium movie channels...I also pay for HD and the extra HD (for HDNet)...my bill is around $150 a month when all is said and done...so I figure I'm a customer they want to keep happy...certainly $220 off the price makes me happy...

Couldn't get SF for free, but I got $81 off of my bill in other areas:

    $5 off my bill for 3 months=$15
$6 off of my "free" HD DVR service for 6 months=$36
$5 off of the Sports Pack for 6 months=$30

Probably could have stayed on and battled for more, but I was doing this at work and at some point, enough is enough.

Yeah, I just called and got a similar deal as everyone else: ST @$24.99 x 6 months; SF @$25 X two months.

That's basically $170 in savings. I don't mind paying $8 a week for 26 weeks for every NFL game in HD. To break it down further, it's something like $1.75 per viewing hour (roughly six hours a week, assuming you watch all six broadcast hours).

I know there are flaws in my reasoning like the fact the season is only 16 weeks, not 26, but I'm sticking to math I can do in my head.

I have not previously had ST and SF but for some of the deals that you all are getting I may jump in. (I could sell the Finance Committee chair on $25/month.) Are the deals you are getting strictly for renewals of ST and SF? Or are they available to new ST/SF subscribers as well? I checked the D* site and the basic "early bird offer" wasn't too appetizing - smelled too much of worms.

Just got my bill and it's confirmed that the CSR I talked with was correct that Superfan is free and included in the Easy Pay 10 month payment plan that was offered in January and February.

On my bill is a line item that says "NFL SUNDAY TICKET SuperFan 09 Special Free Offer"

I LOVE not having to beg for free Superfan. I will doubly make sure I get the Easy Pay again next year just in case they put Superfan in for free with it again.

I think our bargaining is made easier because we call to "cancel" our ST; which sends our call over to retention (who have the authority to make better deals)...

however, I have had great success in the past pointing our what a good customer I am and mentioning that people on forums have gotten xyz deal and I want to be treated the same...that has worked 100% of the time...I may have had to escalate to a supervisor, but I always got the best deal that way...

I called today with every intention of cancelling Sunday Ticket but the first offer was $20 off for six months and free Superfan so I ended up paying $149.83 (6 payments of $24.99), obviously I kept it, now to break it to the wife :D

Alot of people are responding to my first post. My first post we meant a little different then people are taking it. I think they were stating that they had seen line items on their bill with no charge for something and I said I dont think its going to be free just has not been billed yet.
