Well, it looks like a new cycle of three has started with the death this morning of "The Streets of San Francisco" actor Karl Malden

Well, 97 is a pretty good life span. He was a terrific actor.

I thought maybe this run of obituaries was a June thing.

I always liked Streets of San Francisco. Retro TV was showing it for a while here in Atlanta and I rarely missed a chance to record it.

Streets was also a favorite of mine. Karl Malden was truly one of the greats, he had a tremendous career.

Without looking up his Bio, what else do remember seeing him in? I know he was in a bunch of War movies.

You mean before or after 1972 and "Streets"? Pre-1972 movies: A Streetcar Named Desire (got him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), On the Waterfront, Patton, Gypsy and the list goes on and on and on, those are just what I remember seeing. And he and Mona were married for more than 70 years.

"One Eyed Jack" made TV Guide's short list of The Best Movies you've never seen or heard of.

I was surprised that no one ever produced a Streets of San Fransisco movie. I figured that Douglas by then would be the SF Police chief, eyeing political office, and Malden would be semi-retired, working as a private eye, doing innocuous things credit background checks, and something would come up that made their path cross that seemed to implicate each other.

I loved Streets as well. I am so sad to see this list ever expanding. But at least 97 is a life well lived! Rest in peace.

Very difficult to predict this one! Since no one had practiced the part and seems to only succeed doing this once in the career, perhaps we should not try to guess this one!

American Express commercials will never be the same...:D

But honestly....The Streets of San Francisco was one of the first and best cop dramas that made it. He and Michael Douglas made a great team.
