Yeah, I think the Lakers will put up some big numbers!
The other providers, save for Dish, have a completely different customer base profile. They can tailor their stations to what the local scene demands. Now, if Comcast in all their areas are showing the TW Sportsnet channel, I'll have to backtrack a bit.....
Wrong. It is a privilege to post here, not a "right" as this is a privately owned forum.
Last I checked, NO ONE is trying to "censor" you. And truth be told, the owners/mods/admins who run this forum can limit or remove posts as they like and it is NOT censorship.
I still stand by what I said. There is simply not enough interest for this channel among D* subscribers. People aren't jumping ship in droves just to see this channel.
I'm curious, that email that D* "sent out", was that in response to an email you sent?
Secondly, where do you see where D* has ever said they are willing to miss the entire Lakers regular season or even a hint at it?
I see Phil Jackson was stunned by the Lakers. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...repared-return-los-angeles-lakers-source-says
He wasn't shunned. He was asking for the moon and wanted complete control and part ownership.Similar to what Pat Riley has down in Miami with the Heat.
I meant to say stunned, I will correct it
Nope me and several members on Lakersground.net got that email directly from D*. Without emailing them first.
Headline says he was "stunned" he didn't get an offer, and that they hired the other guy.
Fair to say he was stunned he was shunned.
So why add more?
Judging by TWC's failing finances, they may have just done that
So people can watch the 16 time NBA champions.
Sort of like what TWC is asking from DirecTV to carry the Lakers channel.
Any updates to share?
I think the fact that SR is posting in this thread is a good sign.
Because people want to watch them. I'm sure there are channels YOU watch, that I could do without. That doesn't make it right though to just remove them.
The difference is most of these stations are part of a broader network. I choose to watch some stations more or even not watch at all but realize the package as a whole warrants my enthusiasm. The "Lakers Channel" is just one part time channel with nothing else that interests me along with most other people. I can watch every Lakers game without paying $4 a month. I will watch the next Lakers game on TNT Tuesday evening. I watched some of the Galaxy game on ESPN last night. There is no need for me or anyone else to pay $4 buck a month, i am NOT missing any games by NOT getting TWC.
Well...TWC SportsNet's listing is back up on their promise webpage linked to that same beyond tired super stale message;
Wonder if that pretty much sticks a fork in it, and like with the Pac-12 network DIRECTV is determined to ride this out and this season is probably done.
I understand folks still have to negotiate, but didn't D* add a zip code-driven RSN Fee for exactly this kind of scenario not too long ago?
