I think that's going to be normal.
People outside the Lakers DMA zone who have the sports pack and have this channel won't see live games but will be able to catch the delayed replays.
I have the sports pack, im outside the ny dma and i never see knicks games, even replays ..
Yeah, that's why I pointed it out. I've never seen an out-of-market NBA next-day replay in the clear. When the NHL existed it seemed all of their replays were in the clear.
you are likely in a Knicks market even though you are not in the ny DMA. Dma often are not the same as sports teams markets.
i live in la
That should be a mistake by DIRECTV. Even allowing game replays like that to those who only have Sports Pack detracts from the value of LP.
What I can't remember is if you subscribe to LP and have Sports Pack can you see game replays on the out of market RSNs?
Perhaps someone can chime in with the answer.
I had LP and Sports Pack 2 years ago and I didn't get the replays. You get the "Blacked out" message not the "Not subscribed" message.
Nba bball is bad nothing compared to ncaa.....so quite peeved they add this channel like nothing and now am missing all pac 12 hoops because we cant get that deal done ugh.....
I read your post wrong. I thought you said you always see them...
oh no, i'd like to
I can confirm also that when I had LP and sports pack a couple of years ago, the replays were always blacked out. It would have been nice if they weren't. I never understood that, if I'm paying for LP, what do they care if I watch it live or delayed?
Wow, TWC is pathetic. This would never happen with FSW/Prime Ticket. What am i talking about?
Last night before the game, TWC had the live Kareem unveiling from 4:30 PM to just after 6 PM. It was wonderful seeing all the NBA stars including Riley, West, Magic, etc. paying tribute to Kareem including the unveil of the statue. I got emotional especially when Kareem thanked the fans and how they always ask him how he's doing (Kareem has Leukemia). It was something as a Laker fan i will always remember.
So what does TWC do? NOTHING. They show the Laker/Suns game about 8 times, Laker access about 20 times, even the Laker Girls for about 10 times etc. No replay of the unveiling, nothing. And i looked at my guide for the next few days, and nothing. Now you know why i got rid of TWC.
Yes. He basically has been an assistant coach at all levels. His closest link (if you can even call it that) to the Lakers is that he was an assistant coach with USC.
He seems to be trying so hard to win the hearts of the southland fans by praising everything and anything about the Lakers, considering he is a "newcomer" to the organization. I would actually prefer the hear criticisms, when they are justified. Even the great Chick Hearn (the biggest Laker supporter of them all) would let us know his displeasure and frustration with the team when they were playing poorly. He wasn't nice about it, either.
Anyhow, getting back to Dave Miller, all other analysts on the TWCSN show have some kind of connection to the Lakers. (Former players, beat writers for the team, former FSN West or local news talent, etc.) I can't figure out why TWCSN chose to go with Miller.
Yes. That is a shame. One would imagine that with all the repeats shown throughout the day, TWCSN could at least find a time slot or two to show a replay of the Cap's Ceremony.
Big Thumbs Down!
Big Game James Worthy has assumed that studio analyst role of being harsh, upfront, and telling it like it.He's been doing it ever since he's become a TV studio sports analyst on KCAL 9 and now on this channel.
But yes I agree Dave Miller is pretty bad and I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced some time soon.I didn't even like him when he did video analysis clips for ESPN LA's website last season.
Us Laker fans though should be glad that TWC SportsNet didn't hire Jim Hill to work them.I couldn't stand him on KCAL 9.
I would have liked to seen them hire Kiki Vandeweghe, Michael Cooper, or even Norm Nixon to work them.
"Big Shot Rob" (Robert Horry) is going to start working on a part time basis as a TV analyst for TWC SportsNet starting this coming Tuesday.
the most hilarious thing about Dave Miller is when he starts rapping old school hip hop
not sure what your complaint is as i watched the ceremony live on twc sportsnet. i don't think they replayed it which is shameful.
He meant no replay later.
I'm amazed at how weak the lineup is. It is pretty much a channel on a loop with a couple of games a week and a couple of hours a week of programming shown over and over again.
