    Great...
What is the length of the guide suppose to be?

Seems like mine is shrinking over time, I see it is now roughly 34 hours out.

I have the 222k, does that make a difference?

I believe it was 72 hours out at one time.

    Am I losing it?

No but it depends when you check it(it can be less),supposed to be a 3 day guide on regular receivers like yours.Do a check switch, then after it redownloads the guide, check it.

9 day guide on the DVRs.

Jhon is correct... there is often a 1-day "slop" in the EPG so while there should be 3/9 day data... sometimes you can catch it in between updates and it temporarily has about a day less than it should.

Also, since the guide data updates when in stand-by mode (turned off), if your receiver was to be on for say 16 hours, your guide data could include 16fewer hours at the end of that viewing day.

"check switch" do you mean a cold reboot, or is this a setting in the menu? If it is, where is it? I checked the menu and can't seem to find it.

    thanks for the help

Oh, and I have my guide set to update at six AM, and my calculations started at 3pm, so after adding the extra 9, It still is way short of 72. I will check after an epg update.

    OK,

Did the "check switch" - got "O.K." across all three 110,119,129.

Downloaded guide again, It is 45 hours out. That leaves 27 hours missing.

    Still open to suggestions.

Maybe Ray from dirt could jump in here.

    Thanks for posting that.

48 hours. [ I'm in the "up to" section, I guess]

    That really sucks.

I could have swore it was 3 days out when I signed up with dish last year..

    Maybe I am losing it!

If the extended program guide is that important update your receiver to a 622/722/722K and get the guide info stored on the hard drive.

Yes, direct did when I had them, but honestly, I thought I saw three days when I originally signed up with dish. That was almost a year ago, and I really didn't pay alot of attention until recently when I was looking for a program.

Thanks for the input. I can't see changing recievers at this point, as I, like everyone else [ well, most everyone] am looking to keep costs down.

The EPG download occurs on two satellites and a transponder for that satellite (one for WA and one for EA). Thanks.

I only have 36 hours left of the guide on my 922 dvr, so I was trying to look at each Sat and Sport to see if there was a bad signal strength

Sounds like overnight download got interrupted, if going past current end of guide does not work, do a check switch to force a new download.

Do you leave it on all the time?.If you do then you need to turn it off so the guide can reload. It should reload in 1/2 hour after you turn it off.

Don't know if it's true with all receivers, don't see why it wouldn't be, just go to the end of the EPG to perform a manual update. I leave my DVR on all the time due to buggy firmware, so I update the EPG manually.

The 922 receiver doesn't work this way. You also can't force an EPG update by running a checkswitch either.
