My 211 picture was breaking and it pointed to the lnb. I found that the installer didn't tighten the cables.
The lnb was hot to the touch. How hot does the lnb normally run?

In cool area - just warm to hold it indefinitely; but under CO sun could be much higher as air temp outside.

Keep in mind that the dish faces south, and the reflector focuses not just radio signals but also heat on the LNB. It is normal for them to get pretty hot in the summer, but unless it is bad, it should hold up to the heat just fine.

During the hottest days of summer in CA (105-110F), we always have a small handful of LNBs fail, but compared to the number that are in daily use, it's a tiny percentage. And imagine the folks in Tuscon, AZ or Death Valley, and their LNBs hold up pretty well too.
