    Honestly...

    The FCC and your congressperson.
They are the ones who passed the laws, and are enforcing it's compliance.
    (Regarding the Waivers)

As for Local HD... DirecTV is roling it out now... not sure where your area fit's in.. but...

And we won't have all channels... As i never expect to have Comcast SportsNet in HD... as after all it is a competitor's network.

The sat guys can have the locals too. They must do just like cable and send the local stations, not the national networks.

The satellite companies are working quickly to add HD local into local. If you really want to complain, DirecTV are the boys that dragged their feet, but I doubt that your complaints will change the rollout scheduled.

We in NE PA are all caught up in a Catch 22 Ring. My locals in the Stroudsburg are are from Scranton. I came here in 1980 from the Philadelphia area and have only visited Scranton while driving though it to go somewhere else. So I want Philadelphia but am not allowed to have it.

Wind Gap qualifies for Phila HD locals. Cross the Blue Mountain into Monroe County and you are stuck with Scranton. Scranton is not scheduled for HD Locals. It's DMA is not profitable.

OTA reception here is impossible. Maybe you will be able to receive OTA at Newfoundland. If not, call the cable company.

None of this makes any sense to me. I'm not asking for the moon; just want to watch what I want. The Government should move out of the way and allow the providers to work out the details.

Being profitable has nothing to do with it, it's the fact that the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Market is ranked 54. That is the reason why we aren't at the top of the list to get locals. We will probably make the cut in late 2007/early 2008 when D* starts providing channels on the new DirecTV 10 and DirecTV 11 Satellites.

Monroe county is on an extreme of the market actually, if you go North on 209 and cross into Bushkill/Pike County or East on 80 into NJ, you end up in the New York DMA, go south on 209/33S you end up in Northampton County and in the Philly DMA. If Stroudsburg wasn't in a valley and the mountains weren't blocking a signal, you would likely have no problem recieving the Scranton channels in HD via the ATSC Tuner and an indoor antenna. You might even be able to get WYOU and WBRE's digital signal now with a good quality antenna, they said they've had reports of people picking them up over the air in the Stroudsburg area. Our county is closer to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and in their signal coverage area, which is why we qualify as their market. Plus, those stations cover news for our county.

That sucks, find a grey area within the narrow Ka signal area of the locals you want. Tough to do out East... Well maybe your only option is Canadian DBS for local. For an HD-DVR, go ExpressVu, the DVR is the same as a DISH 924. StarChoice has the better SD picture though. I'm thinking of ExpressVu primarily for WGN-HD. Go White Sox!

The attitude that an antenna is bad is an offshoot from CATV's sly advertising. It is also wrong. Big antennas are beautiful.
