Looks like AT&T is one step closer to owning the world.

I was a long time Dish customer over 8 years. I swore I'd never go to DirecTV until meeting an At@t and DirecTV account Manager now 3 years later my only regret was not changing sooner. If I have an issue call him Directly.

Depending on what you want. A friend recently switched from Dish to Direct, only to find Direct does not have a lot of channels he had on Dish. Now he is stuck with that 2 year contract.

Your friend should have checked the channel lineup before switching to DIRECTV.

That's what I told him..... He likes the old classic TV shows like I do, but with the loss of HBO/Cinemax, I think that is why he switched. I told him to get a Roku or FireStick, but he says that is too much trouble. He wants everything all together. I could care less, as long as I have access to it. Direct TV does not carry the diginets like Dish does.

To me, the absence of HBO and Cinemax is no sad loss.:)

Years ago, it would be a disaster losing those channels. But now with more and more streaming, it is unimportant for many. Amazon Prime is one of the best for streaming.

I was a 15 year Directv customer, I switched to Dish this past Feb. My bill was to high and they didn't seem to care when I called, they had a lot of extra fees like that regional sports fee. HBO and Cinemax are not important to me, I wanted Epix and the Sub channels like MeTV and now Comet TV. Directv still refuses to carry these, anyway just wanted to say that in todays world it is easy to stream whatever your looking for, it is nice to have all your channels in one place but having a roku or firestick on top is not a bad thing, Maybe HBO will return maybe it won't either way it doesn't affect me but I hope it returns for those whom it does matter. I don't think its worth switching providers and jumping the gun, especially if it puts you in a contract that you regret later.

That is one main reason I have stayed with Dish for 20 years now. I like their line-up. All of these diginets (sub channels) are great. Several we do not have access to any other way. Epix is great. If you get it streaming they have "the vault" with hundreds of old movies I have never seen. It is an amazing treasure that no one else has. I pay less that $95 a month for everything I need from Dish and all of the access to On Demand apps on the Roku/Fire Stick for no extra charge. Streaming is great, but there are time we lose streaming for short periods as Spectrum goes down, but it is not all that long until it comes back up.
