Argh, I made a mistake I deactivated 2 of my receivers, I was gonna deactivate them but before I could my wife mailed them back, now I have to pay to get them back. I guess since I can't get my hddvr and HD receiver back without paying, that only leaves me 1 option subscribe to my local cable blue ridge cable in Pennsylvania and they'll provide me with 4 hd dvrs with no up front cost, yeah the monthly cost for dvr is slightly higher than directv but no up front, I guess I'll be lowering my directv package to family and just riding out my contract since I can't get my equipment back.

Huh? Is there a question here? Or are you simply kicking yourself for a mistake?

Kicking myself, I don't understand why they make it so difficult to undo a mistake. There gonna end up losing a premier customer since the equipment is so difficult to get back when it's so easy just to get everything free from cable plus I see my local cable has a ton of HD including all the multiple premium screens including encore, encore drama and action all in hd.

So are you complaining and kicking yourself or spamming for how great cable is?

I'd rather stay with D, goodness people get so upset around here with the slightest negative comment about D as if they were bleeding D blue.

    I really don't follow:

    1. You planned on deactivating your receiviers but before you could do, your wife mailed them back.
    2. You have tried to get the receivers back but that will cost $.
    3. Now you are upset that D won't help you and they will lose a customer over this?

What were you trying to do in the beginning? It sounds like you were going to deactiviate and cancel service anyway, or do you have more recievers than the two you mentioned?

What do you mean that it will cost you $ to get the recievers back? If you continue on with the lowest tier service until your contract runs out, you will then be asked to return the recievers and will be charged more $ if you do not. (assuming that the recievers you had were ones that D is recovering)

This doesn't make any sense at all.

I bought a owned HR22 on eBay recently for $39.99 + shipping. Dont just give up. Maybe they will make deal with you to get a HR34 of something like that to make it worth your while.

The only question I had was if his wife sent the receivers back before he deactivated them, I would think DirecTV would either get them or replacements back to him at no charge.

He said he deactivated them. Then he said his wife sent them back before he could deactivate them. Obviously he thought this through enough to call them and ask for two return kits to send them back in. Did he already have them disconnected and packed up or did his wife do that? It's very convoluted and odd.

I think he deactivated and before "reactivating" they were returned. Small typo.

Guys, play nice. This thread was not spamming and we don't need to make those comments in public. Y'all know there are comparison comments all the time. Don't make Stuart cranky...

Capt'n, I hope DIRECTV does send you a come back offer that does everything you'd like.

Did you want those specific receivers- presumably DVRs- back to watch what you already recorded, or .... can you elucidate, please?
