You don't see me running around saying its your fault 26 people died because the school didn't have a guard or bullet proof glass did you?

No sorry I wouldn't need to resort that low.

Yes. Who advocates for lax gun laws and access to the weapons used in that mass murder? Gun owners.

You aren't defending what happened. You are defending what allowed it to happen. I'd like to see you explain that to those parents. You wouldn't have the courage though.

There's no way a security guard could have stopped this guy.

I still think guns are just one of the issues here.

Almost EVERY time you hear about one of these events, it's a single, young, white male. We need to figure out why this happens and solve it once and for all.

Yes, some reasonable gun control is needed that protects 2nd amendment rights. But we also need mental health professionals to tell us why this demographic makes up the vast majority of these devils. Is it video games? Is it movies? Heck - I don't know, I'm an IT security guy, but we MUST find the answer.

I'd like to see you explain how you hold common ground with a man who used this

to force his way into an elementary school and pump bullets into the bodies of a huddled mass of first graders. Go for it. Seek out these parents, who had to go into that school one by one and identify the deceased body of their young child, and tell them why you support the fact that this disturbed young man had access to these weapons.

How do you know that? If he saw the intruder breaking his way in on camera , a quick yell or scream "Lockdown". he could have also had a chance to draw his weapon .
Had the school had proper protection in place, their would have been no forced entry.

You and a few others say no way but you have no way of proving that.

What is the reason that anyone in the general population needs to own an assualt rifle? I get that military personnel need to train and keep up their skill set, but that should happen at a military training facility. If a training facility is that difficult for a soldier to get access to, then maybe that should change. But what would the average citizen need an assault rifle for? The answer "because it's my right to own one" isn't quite doing it for me, because that's in essence saying that if the law changed, then you would no longer need to own one because it would no longer be your right. But that seems to be the general response in defense of owning one. So what do average citizens do with an assault rifle that they cannot accomplish without one?

I forgot, you aren't enough of a student of history or knowledgeable enough to even remember anything about the Reagan presidency. You don't have a good grasp of facts, and lack any depth of knowledge on this or any other issue discussed in this thread. But you do know that you want that assault weapon. Yes, the murdered children, like the victim in any murder case, are the most forgotten people of all. Their voice is silenced forever, but you keep on talking about that assault weapon! And your wealth made from real estate (or perhaps made up). And that "mugging" that never happened, at least not how you described it. Get in touch with the real world, think before you speak, and stop using the assault weapon as a crutch.

Again for the 100th time, I don't have one of these, and don't really care if I ever do!

But again based of your own reasearch 88% own guns that means 18 of those 20 childrens parents own guns.

So again your calling them murderers too.

I never said you owned one. I said you justify their ownership. You justify their accessibility. You justify these murders.

No, it doesn't mean 18 of the 20 parents owned guns. You have to check those 20 specifically to know. The truth is always a good place to start having a discussion, not made up or distorted facts/statements. Each person is entitled to his own opinion. Each person is not entitled to his own set of facts.

    There is no reason.
I don't think many if any were defending that.

The fact that Hoosier keeps trying to make everyone think we all have AR's and defending ownership of them, I could see why so many are confused.

He wants a gun BAN of all guns. I'm fine with a gun ban of AK and maybe even a stricter limit of mag size on all other guns.!

It's not a complete ban, but I was just talking to a coworker who is from London, and still has current ties. He said the only people allowed to have firearms are essentially farmers and hunters, and it's heavily restricted. The average beat cop does not have a firearm still. You must give "a good reason" to have a firearm to get a license, and self defense doesn't count.

It made for some unusual circumstances for the 2012 Olympics, British teams had to practice elsewhere, and got no funding, but special waivers were granted for the competitions themselves.

As I have stated, there are "thousands" of gun control laws on the books. Are you saying all those gun control laws are lax?

Never once did I say I wanted to ban all guns. Once again, you prove to us all that you don't actually bother to read before commenting. I want us to ban all assualt weapons and tighen our incredibly lax existing gun laws. We also need to hold legal gun owners more responsible when their guns end up in the hands of others who commit crimes with them.
