Ok I get a message on PPV that says my tv does not support copy protection so I need to replace the HDMI with component cables. So if I want to VOD the new 1080p movies I have to switch back to HDMI? What is the deal? I have the HR-700.

I would assume you will get the same message when attempting to view the 1080p VOD material, unless it doesn't have the same DRM encoding.
You might try searching your TV model and seeing if there are firmware updates that may be available for it (if it is upgradable).

1080p is only supported via HDMI connection, not Component Video.

The TV might not support the current HDCP version.

I am getting this message as well. I have a HR22-200 hooked up via HDMI to a Sony 34" HD CRT. HD PPV must not work on my TV.
