Yep, the teams have to make their feeds available to all providers for out of territory carriage. RSNs and teams only have the in territory rights to the games, the leagues have complete control over the rights out of territory. During the microwave/fiber loophole days, CSN Philly initially supplied the games to Dish, DirecTV and iNDemand via wild C-Band feeds, but after the loophole was closed, they finally started uplinking the channel to C-Band.

Probably not since Extra Innings is technically separate from mlb.tv

Before there were smart TVs and the MLB app for Roku and similar devices Extra Innings had a distinct advantage in appearing on a large screen without extra effort. Now the only advantage I can think of is watching the local commercials. MLB.tv offers both feeds when there are 2 unlike Directv which is prone to not carrying feeds not already on their satellites.

Plus, with at least the Roku implementation you can also choose to get the radio announcers for your audio if you prefer. (Feature not available in my Android phone or tablet)

DirecTV does have both feeds (home and away )
    DirecTV MLB EI includes mlb.tv
    DirecTV included the mix channel
    DirecTV includes strike zone channel

DirecTV has games in 4k (EI may not be required for 4k games)

Easier to 649 on each box than to change inputs go to chromecast then mlb.tv

Some have un reliable broadband so the DirecTV feed is better

But those are just my reasons why I prefer via D*
Price and value are different for everyone

MLB still has the FOX Saturday Baseball deal wrong. For Example. Last Night I live in the Memphis, Tennessee Market. That Market includes Braves, Reds, & Cardinals. Last Night The FOX Channel in Memphis showed the Cubs at Nationals while the Braves played the Brewers. Braves vs Brewers was Blacked Out here on the MLB Extra Innings Channel and no other way to see that game.

Yeah, Memphis and Myrtle Beach-Florence are clearly Braves territory, it's not one of those edge cases where the city itself is in another territory and the Braves are only in some bordering counties. Heck in the case of Myrtle Beach-Florence it's the only MLB team.

I would complain to the stations to see what happened, the engineering contacts might be able to help since they are also usually the ones who handles the traffic and can easily escalate it with someone at Fox:
    Fox 13 Memphis
    WFXB Myrtle Beach

well I can tell you that Memphis will be showing Braves at Cardinals this coming weekend. FOX 13 will show any Cardinals game whenever they’re involved on FOX Saturday Night Baseball.

I meant to post this earlier this week, but I pulled the trigger on the 50% off deal, I figured why not, $60.00 for the whole season is a great price. This is my first year with the package, and overall I’m really enjoying it.

    Reynoldsburg...
The Fox Saturday games do get blacked out on DirecTV within the home television territory whether the local Fox affiliate is airing it or not (yes, that makes no sense to me either if another game is being shown). We got Braves-Cardinals Saturday in Columbus, and both that game and Red Sox-Astros were open in in the EI channels. Dodgers-Pirates was blacked out ... but available on MLB.TV.

Most of the EI channels were out tonight. I used the app via Roku, instead.

Vegas is messed up as usual with Fox Saturday Baseball.

Although the Angels claim Vegas, the Fox affiliate opted for Sox - Yanks.
Yet Angels - M's game is blacked out on 734.

    How difficult is this?

The FOX Saturday Baseball Games are Blacked Out in Home & "Claimed" Markets & there is nothing that can be done about it. Even if your local FOX Affiliate decides to show two teams that aren’t in your market, you’re screwed from seeing the game that is "supposed" to be in "your market" this is another flaw by MLB & another reason why Blackouts need to be done away with.
