Received a reminder today about renewing MLB.TV for 2019.

    "Dear 2018 MLB.TV® Yearly subscriber,

MLB.TV is back in time for Spring Training. The first game will be streamed on or about February 22, 2019. We are pleased to notify you of the annual automatic renewal of your MLB.TV Yearly subscription for 2019. We are happy to offer you a discounted price again this year. That’s only $77.34 for the entire year (35% off the full 2019 yearly price) and includes all the great features from last year PLUS new features for the 2019 season....
    New 2019 MLB.TV Features

    • New Catch Up feature to be released across multiple supported platforms. Watch the key plays you missed in a fraction of the time and then join the game live.
    • Exclusive highlight features before, during and after the game.
    • Exclusive audio channels for supported devices.
    • New features will be added throughout the season."
Note: I paid $74 last year due to a military discount. They also have a student discount. And one of the sites I think even has a teacher discount -- not sure if that is MLB.TV though. If looking for discount(s), you either need to call them or do an online chat. Nothing on their site mentions these.

If the past is any indication, it will not work until the season begins.

Last year was the first year I could watch spring training games via the app linked to my DTV account.

As spring training approaches, I'd thought I'd chime in on my prior three years experience with DTV MLB EI subscriptions and MLB.TV access. In three words: it is "hit or miss."

During the first two-three weeks, access to spring training games was periodically allowed and then removed. I never did figure out a pattern, but I ended-up checking in the evenings to see if I could get into the archived games. Then, about one to two weeks prior to ending day, access stabilized and was allowed for the remainder.

Also a reminder: MLB ch 213 runs up to 6 tape delayed ST games a day, so sometimes you get lucky with your team's broadcast being available.

    Good luck to all.

    Reynoldsburg...
No blackouts on Sports Pack either, for those who have that. Out-of-market replays are blacked out, per usual.

I tried today and couldn't link as well. When do you think it will be available for spring training?

Schmave's post from Monday is accurate today. (Saturday)

All televised games in the 600's are in the clear if you have SportsPack.

It has been my experience that the MLB-TV subscription through DirecTV MLB EI never works until the first game of the regular season.

For the first time in 10 years I am seriously debating on not getting EI. I bought season tickets to the Brewers this year and it comes with MLB TV. I always liked the picture quality on D, I am always skeptical with streaming. How's the PQ between the MLB TV and D EI? I have Gigabit Fiber internet, so speeds wont' be an issue.

    Mlb.EI is good PQ
But I do like when D* has games in 4K

And both fox sports and MLB network broadcast games in 4K
So there are a good amount of games in 4K each week

Almost no difference. I prefer Dtv for the convenience, I.e. flipping between channels when the kids or wife ,leave the room for a few minutes, just flipping between games is easier on Dtv and recording as well. Also, Cards fan here
