They are always "available". DirecTV just chooses not to use them often.
Not using Wednesday, but will carry Thursday's feed on 724.

DirecTV has been chintzing on both MLB and NHL.
Lately, no Flyers feed, no Ducks when they are on KCOP, and only 1 Canadian feed every night.
And, again, they have "access" to all of them.

You know damm well what I meant. Phillies feeds are not always available on the Extra Innings feeds on DIRECTV.

They are almost NEVER available on DirecTV. It's fortunate for us that we don't follow the Phillies.

There is a way via the mlb.tv app yes but not everyone has good or reliable broadband , all games "should " be available via DirecTV. I know D* has there own setup and not tied to in demand but if the cable cos have (a linear feed) Phillies and Blue Jay's feed via MLB EI DirecTV should too

I think others have said similar issues for NBA and NHL for Philly teams ...

I just did a quick search for 76ers.
Directv s online published NBA LP schedule only shows 1 channel. Checked in demand (online schedule) selected fios and cox and they have both feeds .

We pay big $ for these premium sports subscriptions should have all feeds available.

    Indemand link:
    https://www.indemand.com/sport-package/nba-league-pass/

    Directv schedule:
    https://www.directv.com/sports/nba_schedules

Back to baseball . It's only showing the braves feed in the 700s no philly feed.

AFAIC, we are NOT paying big bucks for these packages. For what we get, it's a bargain. Yes, it's real money but come on...let's get real here. Every single game is available and it's available in high def. Some are even available in 4K (which is absolutely stunning).

I for one have zero complaints. If there's a feed I want to see so desperately that might not be on CI or EI I'll switch to the Roku app, but that's a few and far between situation. I'm in South Jersey which means I'm blacked out of all Philly games unless they're playing a team on MSG or MSG+ which are the RSNs we get. In those cases, I use a relative's Xfinity account to watch via the NBC Sports app.

If you really think things suck I'd ask you to think back to when we couldn't get any Canadian feeds at all and SD feeds were absolutely unwatchable.

I guess true compared to business and restaurants we are not paying "big" bucks. We pay extra tho and should have access to all games via D*

Yes as you mentioned if u have reliable or fiber broadband you can use online streaming (mlb.tv, NBA, NHL espn+ etc) not everyone has a reliable ISP

Yes I love the 4K your right amazing PQ and exclusive to Directv no complaints there .

I was just trying to make a point that other tv providers (which most use indemand) have the Philly feeds available via the sports subscription (NBA LP, MLB EI NHL CI)

Yes we are blessed. I just wish we had quad PIP on the MLBEI app (and NHLCI as well). :)

Oh geez that sucks. I’m watching on the app. I think you’ve stated in the past that you have crappy internet service, correct?

I have DIRECTV and pay for MLB Extra Innings. I don't live in either the Yankees or Nationals broadcast territory and was watching this game when suddenly the YES Network which was the feed I was watching suddenly got Blacked Out. The Nationals feed is still on and this game has gone into the 11th inning tied 3-3.

Yes I know that. I was asking how your internet speed was as you have the option to switch over the MLBEI streaming app to watch the rest of it, which I am doing now. I know, I know, you probably don’t want to have to do that as you feel you should be able to watch it on D*, but it sounds like someone flipped the switch too soon. My apologies.

There are people that pay money to see these sports and they are switching games off early before they are final.

I am glad that you had the Nationals feed to fall back to. Almost surprised that both feeds didn't get cut off when someone thought the game ended.

This comment will not go over well in some corners of this thread.

    But, 2 things:
    1) It makes no sense to argue there are only two ways to watch baseball:
    A) DirecTV/ through MLBEI on television or
    B) Streaming MLB.tv on a phone or tablet.

    2) Granted I have solid internet, but I've found watching MLB.tv through a Roku on a 65" LGC7 looks better - sharper - than the pic on EI through DirecTV.
It's just easier to change channels on MLBEI.

As I said at the beginning, this comment might not go over well, but both points I made are true.

Does it need to be argued that the method one pays for should work? If one pays DIRECTV for a satellite delivered feed of MLBEI shouldn't DIRECTV be held responsible for delivering those games via satellite to all subscribers not blocked by blackout rules? Alternate methods do not matter when the method one pays for is not provided. It is nice to have a backup (other team's feed or streaming) but it is nicer when one doesn't need to rely on the backup.

    James,
I don't know if your comment #199 was aimed at me or not.

But, first, let me say I agree with everything you said. If the Yankees feed today was cut, it's on DirecTV and no one else.

My first comment was based on post #194's inaccurate characterization of streaming necessitating the use of a phone or tablet.
And my second comment is clearly true every time I do a side by side comparison of the picture quality of MLBEI and MLB.tv.

    Cheers!
