My guess is that sometime this week, we will see www.directv.com/mlb updated to include the new package information, as well as ordering capabilities.

The premium version will likely be included because the FIOS website said that you could watch games on mobile devices, which is only part of premium.

Just saw the official pricing for renewals: $32,99 for 6 months or a total of $197.94.

I asked if MLB EI would include MLB.TV as has been rumored and the CSR said she knew nothing about it. (She could have added that she knew nothing about many things that I was questioning.)

I had been waiting for the bundle, but at $70 more than mlb.tv standalone i'm just going to get that, as long as you have a "connected device" on each tv and a good internet connection, extra innings doesn't add any value.

That would be a matter of opinion I guess. For me, I have tried both and loved Extra Innings last year. The DVR functionality on a HR34 vs my PS3 was unmatched not to mention the PQ was way better on the HR34. Also I could have 5 games going at once or use PIP. In the end, Extra Innings was way better for me.

Agree. I have never, ever, ever, seen streaming sports that is anywhere near the PQ of real HD on a real TV.

Some movies come close but high speed encoding, streamed and displayed on a 65 inch TV 8 feet away. Blech.

so one thing i forgot to mention is that there will be 10 games exclusively on FOX Sports 1, the other games will have RSN feeds as well.

Spot on take. I've subbed to both for years.

Video quality is markedly better with MLB EI.

I've had MLB.TV for the last couple of years after dropping MLB EI. You're correct, PQ is not as good on MLB.TV; don't think that there's any question about it.

However, I go with MLB.TV because it's significantly cheaper, and for me, the difference in PQ isn't enough to make me pay extra for MLB EI. And, I also like that I can get RSN, Comcrap Philly, Comcrap Houston, and now, TWC Dodger feeds. I will give D* credit that the last couple of years they have had Toronto, Philly and San Diego feeds, but I kind of got soured by the carriage battles for years and years before they were added.

If you are a consumer, you must weigh PQ vs price/feeds, and then make your decision. I don't think one can say there is a right answer/wrong answer about which service is better. I guess the beauty of the situation is that at least there are options re. television feeds for MLB fans, and that's a good thing.

A guy on the "other forum" said he saw a DirecTV ad during the Dallas Stars game that said "for the first time ever MLB.tv is included with your EI purchase." Hopefully this is indeed true!

Free would not be cheap enough for the PQ I've seen.

I do like MLB.tv for mobile access, though.

The pq I've had in the past 3 years has been pretty darn good with MLB. TV.

Maybe you've got connection issues, because the picture quality, although a tad below D* HD, is really good. Particularly when using a Roku or Xbox to stream.

I have that game on my DVR (though it might not be the same feed), so I'll look for it when I watch the game later today.

I just saw the ad myself in my recording of the Stars game. Most definitely a DIRECTV ad, and it is very explicit about the inclusion of MLB.TV with EI (indeed, that was the whole point of the ad). Very encouraging.

I wonder what the procedure will be for setting up MLB.TV through an EI subscription.

I've been watching games on RSNs all week. I have Sportspack.
Live games on RSNs work; the replays are blacked out.

...unless I'm missing something, that has nothing to do with mlb.TV being included with EI.
