It was a great game, and I'm not even a Giants or Phillies fan, quite a duel, too bad Cain didn't pickup the win after 9 scoreless innings of outstanding work.

Inexcusable that last night's Giants-Phillies game was not televised. OTA or no OTA hasn't made a difference in the past. If I'm gonna pay top dollar for this crap I want access to every game.

Of course it has made a difference in the past. If the package is not what you want, then don't buy it. It is NOT a package that gives you every game. That is clear up front. You know, when you decided to buy it. Hardly crap as it is the most complete baseball package on any satellite or cable provider. Only MLB.tv gives more games but at lesser quality.

I love the rants and raves. Customers can be very unreasonable at times.

For TiVos, first set the RSN you are interested in as a "channel I receive." Next, create a Wishlist for your team and "EVENT." As the RSN's are a lower channel number (600's) than the MLB EI broadcasts (700's), it will pick the RSN first.

For example, I set PT (693) as a channel I receive, and built a WL as 'DODGERS', "EVENTS' and "First Run only," adding 1 1/2 hours to the recordings for long games (RSN showings usually list as 3 hours).

Note that setting the RSN as a "channel I receive" opens it up for other WL recordings. For example, my 'SHARKS' WL will pick 693 for games against the Kings, which I have to manually change to record on 698.

Yeah, DirecTV makes it very clear you will not be able to watch every game.

    From:
    http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/mlb?footernavtype=-1&lpos=header

Here’s your season ticket to every MLB game.
With DIRECTV and MLB EXTRA INNINGS®, no matter where you call home, you can be there with your home team every step of the way to the pennant race. See every history-making moment with up to 80 games a week, including up to 40 in crystal-clear HD.* When it comes to Major League Baseball, no one beats DIRECTV.

I don't see why anyone would think they would be able to access every game from their web page... Oh wait....

so reading some Giants boards today about that incredible pitched games and found out that there was a problem with the Phillies feed. so apparently the game did actually come on in the seventh inning. i checked a few times but didn't continue to check and missed the end of the game.

The game never came on DirecTV. The Phillies feed was on The Comcast Network, which DirecTV has never been able to use for Phillies broadcasts. The only time the Phillies feed gets shown is when they're on CSN Philly or the Philly MyNetwork affiliate...and even then it's seemingly random when DirecTV actually turns on those feeds. The same problem happens with the Blue Jays feeds on Rogers Sportsnet. It's completely random when those feeds ever get turned on.

This reminds me of a situation that occurred three (I think) years ago. After getting HD DVR's I started setting every Cardinals game to record for the benefit of a Cardinals fan in the family. Their Sunday games at the time were on an OTA station, so I would have to record the other team's feed on each Sunday. On one or two occasions, the other team was also on OTA, which meant no game. Oh well, just another Cards game we didn't receive because of who was televising it. Didn't complain about it because there were quite a few other Cards games we couldn't get either because they were on Fox (but not our local Fox affiliate) or because they were playing earlier in the day on Saturday (this was when all day games on Saturday were excluded from EI even if they were outside Fox's window).

As more and more games appear on EI, the ones missing stick out more and draw more complaints. I remember very well some 15 years ago when you only got some 30 games a week on EI - many, many games (including all Wednesday night games) were unavailable. Of course, the package also cost a lot less back then.

My grandparents have a four HD-DVR (all HR24-200s thankfully and not the 500s made by Humax (sic), and we're having some real problems with MLB EI.

We can watch games with no problems on the DVR that they're recorded on, but since we only watch from the living room, and the games are recorded on the den DVR out of necessity (due to the others having a grand total of almost seventy unique TV series recording throughout each week and the living room DVR recording the SJ Sharks/GS Warriors/ATP Tennis (whichever two are on during any given day), we cannot (easily) watch the games from the den. Nor the kitchen. Nor the upstairs bedroom.

We have no ability to stream the MLB EI games to any other receiver. All we get is a blank screen where the show's "timer bar" pops up briefly, shows a "paused" icon, and disappears and nothing ever happens. The only way to fix this is to reset ALL of the DVRs by pressing Big Red, but this is not an acceptable solution due to the constant recording being done and having series get messed up when resetting because the guide has not properly filled in before the show's scheduled recording time, caused by the reset of the DVR(s).

This is frustrating beyond belief. We can stream any other show we record, but not any MLB EI games. Seeing as this package is in the hundreds of dollars range, we expect more than this, and the DirecTV tech support is clueless. We've gone through so many resets and they just keep regurgitating the same steps over and over again, and thus we are in an endless circle.

So what could be causing the DVRs to not be able to stream the MLB EI games? They work once after a reset, but any subsequently recorded games are unable to be streamed. It's as if the subscription flag for the account is not being shared properly between receivers.

What good does whole home DVR do if we can't stream what we want, when we want it?

I'm open to any suggestions you folks might have, because this is getting frustrating to the "about to toss the DVRs into the walls" level.

Last year, the Giant games on the SF NBC station were on MLBEI. Jon Miller announced those games.

Anyone able to see the Tigers/Rangers tonight? All of the RSN's it is on are blacked out for me. I see it on the game mix channel as being on 722-1, but when I tune there all I see is the D* logo.

It's not coming through for whatever reason tonight. Rangers feed was never mapped because it was an KDFI game. Tigers game should come through, but they have yet list it even on FS Detroit in the guide even though they seem to be aware enough to black it out even for EI customers.

Thanks. I guess I will pray I get a CSR who can understand what I'm talking about and give them a call. Gotta say that while I love EI, the two out of market games I wanted to see the most this week have been skipped!
