I suggest you vote for someone who says up front that they like being able to fire someone who provides you 'service'. I'd like to fire DirecTV and one of my physicians who keeps making mistakes, both of whom I can't either fire or yank into court for making 'mistakes' all the time.

Perhaps my state needs a 'stand your ground' law so I can deal them some instant justice for ripping me off.

Yes, the Phillies at padres is up instead. Right now Rangers 1 Tigers 3 in the Top of the fifth inning. They are aware of the problem with MLB EI though, but half the game is already over. I bet it will be over or almost over by the time it is fixed. https://twitter.com/#!/DIRECTVService

Directv service person online is now making it sound like the game isn't being played and that they play on those particular channels tomorrow. Interesting that they are doing this.

    Dopes.

KTXA 21, who usually caries Friday games, is showing it for us in Rangers land. Was the day game the original schedule or is tonight's?

Game 2 was the makeup game from Yesterday. which is why KXTA has the game. Seems more like the Directv service of 10 years ago in how they are handling the mlb package.

Unforgiveable that the Rangers-Tigers game wasn't available. It was on FS Detroit and they're always supposed to have the KTXA games as well. I'm paying good money to watch the Rangers games. This is a travesty.

Yep, this was inexcusable. We miss Cain/Lee and now Verlander/Feliz, not because the games weren't available, but because someone at D* was asleep at the switch.

D* ought to have at least one guy on staff who understands the ramifications of sports schedule changes, like a Friday night rain out.

The Guide was never updated to recognize the rescheduled game for 7:00PM tonight.

Tribune provides the Guide, but D* ought to have someone to nudge them for situations like this.

The worst part is someone figured out how to get the game on the mix channel - for a few innings.
If someone at D* sorted that out, it should have been easy to open 663 and EI.

I know, I know, they don't promise every game. But situations like Wednesday's Phils - Giants game and tonight could be easliy fixed - and avoided - with the slightest bit of attention.

I suspect these mistakes are going to be the norm this year. Even NHL Center ice that used to have certain feeds regularly didn't this year. Make up games, OTA feeds, RSN Alternate feeds, Phillies feeds, and Blue Jays feeds may cause havoc on the MLB Extra innings package they way things are going now.

Likely on Monday the Chicago feed HD of the cubs or sox game will be dropped to make way for the blackhawks game as right now the cubs are planed to be CSN HD and SOX on CSN + HD. So the cubs likey will be bumped to CSN + HD and sox to CSN + 2 (only in sd)

Alternate is the name for CSN + 2 on the CSN website.

This happened over the past 2 years.

    Ask for a $300 credit if it's a travesty.

So last evening I was victimized for the second consecutive day by MLB EI programming screw ups. And as mentioned in recent posts it was the Phillies game feeds from SF and SD.

The game last night was listed on the menu (which I programmed for recording) up until about 9:20 p EDT. The game started at 8:30p. So I called Directv and proceeded to waste about an hour as the clueless tech support personnel went through their script.

I have reached the point of no return with these people. Here is a sampling of Directv's comments to me:

"We're just a middle man in providing MLB EI.."
So? You sold me a product and service and have a responsibility to deliver what I paid for. If you have issues with your supplier, then fix it.

"We have no control over programming schedules.."
I'm not asking for control, just timely and accurate scheduling information.

"You can watch the game in SD on another channel.."
    Beyond comment

The story goes on, but more later in my post. I now want to get to an answer about this programming nonsense being formulated by Directv. Maybe some of the readers can help:

    1. What is the technical interface between Directv and MLB? Who knows what and when concerning schedules.

    2. Who makes decisions about what actually is delivered to EI customers? The game last evening (scheduled for 739-1) existed, but who and why was it "blocked" on Directv. Why did it take about an hour into the game before someone made a programming menu schedule change.

    3. Why don't Directv customer service personnel have immediate access to programming schedule changes, say via a computer screen!

    4. Names and contact info for senior corporate personnel in Directv that have responsibility for these issues.

So in the end last night I decided to cancel MLB EI and got the expected response. The customer service agent listened patiently to my story and offered me free HD for a year and a $60 discount on the EI package. So the answer is to just throw money at customers hoping they'll be appeased.

I'm not appeased and will find a way to cancel this package and move to the web for the content.

Profound summary, but absent this attribute for Directv: dysfunctional, unreliable MLB EI program scheduling.

I'm finding that I much prefer the .TV option this season. I currently have both and am really enjoying the viewing options of .TV. The PQ is truly about the same as Direct TV using the PS3 and Vierra connect options. I hope D* steps up their game over the coming years because the competition is getting pretty stiff.

I expect that MLB.TV will be bundled in the future with the Extra Innings.

This morning I was able to go straight to the top of the 7th in the Yankees game and watch the FOX broadcast in fantastic HD. Funny thing is there was no announcers for a while due to the national audience being switched to the perfect game yesterday. It took me a little while to figure out the glitch. Next up, I can switch to watching the ninth inning of the perfect game. I know I will get a howl from the purists, but the picture is excellent and the abilities to recall games and plays awesome. Soon it will be picnic season and beach time. IPad HD watching is on the horizon.

When bundled, I will go back and get both. But for now, I cannot justify the $.

Boy, do I feel stupid now. Just paid for Direct's MBL at Bat and now I realize that I can use my MLB.TV subscription via my BD player, and soon via my Samsung UN60D7050. I've used it on my iPad up until now. So I'm paying twice for this content. I wonder if it's too late to cancel Directv's service and get some money back? Purchased last weekend during the early-bird sale. Anyone else able to cancel MLB at Bat from Direct?

No way the PQ is the same. Can reconstruct a pig from the skin.

He said about the same. Yes, if Directv is 100%, then MLB.TV is a 95%. The point is the gap is getting very small in PQ and the differences in feeds and capabilities is too large. Not trying to flame, but simply inform. If Directv is reading this forum, then hopefully the shortcomings of feeds will be corrected. For instance, no Phillies game this Wednesday for Directv. Hopefully, the hue and cry gets them to find a way to get the feed.
