Yes, how dare someone who signed a 2 year commitment because they were getting NFL ST for the remaining year and next year AND NBA LP free for that season hope (not demand) they are given next season for free to make up for this if the season is canceled due to this virus outbreak. The outrage and all.

The POINT is that the customer did not get the package that they allegedly got for free. The package offered for free (an $xxx dollar value) is no longer available since there are no games being played to give that package content. The $xxx value of that package has dropped closer to $0. So he would like compensation for the lack of value he was promised. His proposal is that he gets the next season free (since he will not be receiving this season's package).

To put things in perspective....99% of the people I know lost there jobs on Tuesday and Wednesday they live paycheck to paycheck....They dont have tvs...This is the norm where I live....an economy based on tourism just decimated this town...Its easy to throw rocks, Im just telling you the reality of life right now, here!....Me and another friend have it made and retired early, everyone else not so much....My heart bleeds for them!.....some have children and some do not.

Many companies are giving free services to help during the pandemic. Others are not. It would be a good topic for another existing thread.

The MLB has no live games to offer.

Whatever. I’m not arguing with you about a sports package in this time we live in. I said what I did and stand by the fact that I hope they make it free next year for those of us who couldn’t get it free for the whole season because it was cancelled this year. As far as your “highly intelligent” internet comment, I’ve been paying for mine since 1994 and would never ask anyone to do so for me. Further, they are not the same.

Thank you, that’s pretty much all I was saying. If this miraculously all goes away and they play the remainder of the season this year then it’s a non-issue.

That’s terrible. I’m fortunate that (I think, hope, and pray) I work in an industry where that doesn’t happen to me. I really feel for people who are going through this. To top it off it’s hard to even look for a job during this time.

I see. I hope my tone didn't sound like I was angry, as I was definitely wasn't. I still hope this is adjusted, refunded or credited at some point the longer we have no baseball.

After the President’s town hall earlier today, I have a glimmer of hope we have baseball by Memorial Day. Wonder what the pro rated price will be and have also heard rumors of MLB giving away the season for free. One can only wish. Who knows?

Is DirecTV going to continue to charge for MLB EI even though there is no date for the season to begin and it is unlikely that it will be a full season?

When I called the CSR said they are still waiting for information from MLB .

As of the time if called (last week) MLB was delayed therefore they have not gotten info to give refunds etc..

In summary MLB needs to tell the tv providers that season is cancelled then they can do refunds etc

    That's what I understood

    Relatedly ...

I subscribed to the MLB streaming package in February, before the fit hit the shan. Paid the full season price, not signing up for monthly. Don't expect to see any sort of adjustment until they actually know what is going to happen with this season.

Same here. I decided to quit Extra Innings for this season and go just with mlb.tv. Last season I watched most of the games on mlb.tv that came with Extra Innings - just to see if my Internet could handle it all. I had no issues. mlb.tv is cheaper... plus you get more spring training games... not that I really watch spring training games. So I decided "Hey! it's going to be the same price no matter if I sign up now or wait until the season starts... might as well sign up now and if I want to watch some spring training games I can" ... but yea... that turned out to be a somewhat terrible decision.

My hope is that mlb.tv will give those of us that are already signed up some type of discount for next season. I know giving flat returns is usually frowned upon from a business point of view (because that's money you might never see again) but some type of discount for next season would seem to strike a decent medium.

They billed me this last month, so i just called and had them remove it. Didn't make sense to pay for it since this season has not even started yet. i have had this package for about 15 years now. Might just go MLB.TV when it comes back, will see.

I had no problem getting the two payments I made credited back. They even threw in a $30/month credit for a year when I asked about HBO special offers.

I don't expect a refund for having billed already for March, and shortly for April, but I do expect a credit when the time comes.
