Last year, D* XM line up didnt start Holiday Music til after Thanksgiving. No one ever explained why.

I love D* dearly but they are horribble communicators.

XM radio began Holiday Music broadcasts on 1 channel Nov 1st and they will add 4 more Holiday channels on Nov 19th as well as a Hannukak Channel on Dec 4th.

I have been unable to locate any current Holiday music on the D* XM lineup, and as usual D* hasnt indicated any scheduling plans.

Perhaps this year D* or XM, whoever is responsible could start the Holiday Music BEFORE Thanksgiving.

From what I understand, the existing XM holiday channel, Holly (XM 103) will shift to replace U-Pop (XM 29/D* 824) on 11/19. The four channels that are to be added on 11/19 will replace existing XM programming as well; as a result, I'd anticipate DirecTV to have audio programming beginning on the 19th.

    (Hope that helps)

I sent an email using D*'s website and asked when the XM Holiday music channels would start. The reply stated "Directv does not carry the XM Holiday channel"! I don't even know why they have an email option on the D* website. Every time I try it, I get a reply that makes no sense, or a reply stating I need to call them.

It's all about choices. Some people like to listen before Thanksgiving and others do not. Since there are around 70 XM music channels on D*, I would not think having early Holiday music on 1 of them would be a big deal.

    Just to be clear...

None of the moderators here can make programming changes on XM. If it helps I could make an MP3 of me humming "Jingle Bells" and e-mail it to you.

I think the OP was hoping the mods had a way to get the official date from D* when their Holiday music channels would begin. Make sure you post the link where we can hear your Jingle Bells mp3!

    Earl.. Stuart:

XM started broadcasting the first Holiday channel on Nov 1, CH103 on XM. 4 additional Holiday music channels will start on XM on Nov 19th.

For some reason, last year D* didnt run any of the XM Holiday music channels until AFTER Thanksgiving. Dont know why.

Just trying to find out when they plan to start the music this year and what channels they will carry over from the XM lineup. I searched D* web site to no avail and the information on the XM site only tells what they are doing, not what D* plans.

I also have XM online service and the Holly Channel , CH103 is now broadcasting.

It was listed earlier this week, but is not there today. In any event, the channel itself IS on the air. I had it on in the car about a half-hour ago...

They shouldn't be allowed to play holiday music until the 23rd of December!!! ;) :D I heard a commercial this AM on the way to work on XM about the 103 already up and playing. They also mentioned a few more were going to pop up shortly. I do notice they don't carry all of the same programming, though they have most. They do not carry my favorite, 164 Old Time Radio channel.

I talked to a very knowledgable CSR last nite, he wasn't given any information on when DIRECTV would have Holly or the other Holiday channels running. Obviously, DIRECTV got some input and got it going. :)

And I did listen to Holly briefly yesterday both in my car and online. Now back to "The Blend" and "The Heart" for a few more weeks. :)

    Cheers,
    Tom
