You may call if you wish, but I know that there are several very highly placed people who read this forum and have probably noticed your reports.

It was the NY studios that FoxNews revamped for HD. Most of what comes out of the Washington studio and other remote locations is still SD with the "wings". The NY originating shows, like Fox & Friends and Shep are in true HD.

The lip-sync issue is as bad as a Milli-Vaniilli concert! It is annoying but not a show stopper.

Jamie & Courtney...lip sync issue or not, I'm watching it! :D

Where did Laurie Dhue end up at?

No, he is directly entering the channel number and does not use custom favorites. All 3 of his receivers at his home are doing the same thing. The 8 receivers at his office 5 miles away show Fox HD. We have SD duplicates turned off in the menu. I had him reset the boxes and still no Fox. I am going to have try a force update to see if that does anything, or maybe turning on SD duplicates and then back off again..

Have you tried refreshing his programming? Sometimes that does the trick.

The text in the "wings" is difficult to read. The blocky font seems fuzzy and the letter kerning is too tight. But then again, the content is even less interesting than the crawl at the bottom.

Maybe they should fill the space with comics and suduko puzzles...

thats like one of my favorite SNL skits of all time....where they had the newscasters talkin on a screen with all the type of info on it all over the place like news, weather, current temp, sports, stox, even a picture of the terminator and all the newspeople were trying to move their heads to be seen in it....classic.

what could they possibly be thinking at fox...those sidebars are awful....who could possibly have ok'd those things at foxnews.....i like to watch the 3 talking head shows from 8 to 11pm but those things are mind numbingly repetitious and obnoxiously obtrusive....the lip sync thing is really bad too....basically i can't believe how inferior their HD programming is to CNN....also someone claimed the voice is ahead of the video but i watched pretty closely last night and i say it is the video that is ahead of the sound....i wll look again tonight when i get back to the bedroom where my HD is.
hmmm.....if i am right that means that jeff's suggestion about viewing distance would make it worse and i will have to move the couch back to where it was.

I'm still having lip sync issues as of last night... I e-mailed FOX about the HD wing expressing my dislike of it.

I'm getting the lip-sync issues, too. Sometimes (but not every time), a quick channel change, then channel change back seems to get rid of the problem for a while. Sometimes it has no effect at all.

Something else I've noticed... there's a LOT of dialog leaking from the center channel into the left and right fronts... to the point where the voices are coming from all three speakers. Kind of like those "synthesized stereo" gadgets that were popular for a while during the 80's. And there's a noticeable lack of bass... all voices are tinny-sounding. This happens only with the programming, commercials sound fine. I've noticed this from day one on Fox Business also.

And I know it's not my system because these issues ONLY occur on Fox Business and now Fox News.

To keep it in perspective, though... seeing Alison Camerota in HD last Saturday morning... the audio could have been Swahili and I wouldn't have cared..... :D
