While it is a bit disquieting to not see the channel being tested yet, I'll wait til it's August 30th and I'm all set to watch Northern Colorado at Utah before I get pissed. If it's not up by then, I will be very angry.

You know what is funny? In five years their will be some sort of media that will think of the college football fans first and then "D" will be expendable.

I wonder what system you think is going to generate the cash that the current system does for the colleges, and broadcasters who pay the fees to the college to get the rights.

You can just edit a post.

You just don't know how ticked off I am.
I just basically got assurance that I am going to lose a bet to a buddy of mine about this network. That infuriates me. I should have known better.

Signed up for Comcast's everything package. I'm lucky enough where I can afford both for a while, but if DirecTV doesn't have the network by the Cal game, I'm dumping it and my DirecTV stocks at the same time.

Things change quickly and events can quickly become fluid. A lot of you are far more technologically sound that I am, but look at Netflix, what if a sports company develops some kind sports programming? I think "D" thinks that they have their customers by the b@ll$. I chose to stay with "D" but we can all agree that 75% of their customer service are morons with false info. I'm just saying that D can be too over confident.

Okay. Guess we should never discuss anything that has happened anywhere. I got it. Anything from this moment prior should not be discussed. No analysis of deeds. Just forward only.

Dude. Where I live I get nothing of the PAC 12 right now. And Cable (as if it were a single entity) comes nowhere near close to directv sports.

    Myopic.

Ain't gonna happen. Caps on Internet. Higher costs. Too many contracts and tie ins with partners. Not getting into this new nirvana conversation.

Buster Davis, I am in your corner. If these guys don't like it they do not have to read it.

We pay big bucks to Directv for sports programming and we are entitled to gripe all we want about the content and the Pac 12 in particular. This channel has been out for 15 months now since announcement. Dozens of cable companies have signed on so the going rate has been largely established. Directv has dragged its feet, period.

Some of this has to do with the self-interest of Directv. Direct owns Root Sports NW and Root Sports Rocky Mountain, two Pac 12 markets where they have to go out and find content to replace whats on their own channels....what the heck is Root Sports NW going to show this year fall during football season? The are doing some Big Sky sports and then will cover the nationwide fox things. They lost the NBA to Comcast, etc. So the Pac 12 took away a LOT of content from Direct and that is a problem for them.

But regardless this needs to be solved. Perhaps if Direct doesn't offer the games I will just bag pay TV altogether rather than go back to Comcast.

And if you do a search for "Pac" "DirecTV" in quotes separately in Google search, the very first article that comes up is "Pac-12 Network: DirecTV Deal Reportedly Not Imminent".

So that's the latest news, and it's been confirmed that nothing has shown up for uplinking for any tests. And this would be a network DrecTV would test. It isn't uplinked for testing by now = it won't be launched by Thursday evening of next week. This means I lost my bet. I made the bet 15 months ago, when my friend said that DirecTV won't have any of these networks when it launches. I told him then it would be up on DirecTV by at least the first football game televised in the fall. We then made the bet based on that.

@BusterAvis...Which means you can move on and go back to whatever cable company or satellite provider you work for and leave this board alone...

Jon Wilner never once said anything from the DirecTV side, his sources have all been within the Pac12 offices.......I have read his articles in my local paper and followed him on Twitter for several years. His info is usually spot on, as with any reporter their info is only as good as the source they get it from. Plus add in the twitter comments from the Utah radio voice, there are more people saying it should be on DirecTV by next weekend. But things change for different reasons....see IonHd and HBO Hd failed launches.

If you feel the need to switch to cable go for it, but bringing up CSN northwest has nothing to do with this subject, CSNNW is owned by Comcast, the PAC 12 channel is wholly owned by the PAC 12. Having one channel isn't related to the other. Citing an article from a fan message board saying we won't have a channel isn't a source. More "people" in the know have said we will.....based on what they are hearing from the PAC 12. Now who you choose to listen to is you choice....but getting overly dramatic about it won't solve the issue.
