Clippers, thunder, wolves, grizzlies, bulls and 76ers. I thinks here are several teams that are interesting this year. But that's fine I f you don't liek the nba. No worries...I think the most exciting part of college football overall is the champions ship games and the big bowls, of course the pac2 ent have any of those games.

And the pac12 won't have the biggest excitement of the basketball season either...

Don't get me wrong though, I want them both. I just hope they get a deal figured out soon.

I am afraid that the pac12 must have missed what directv just did to Viacom. They have no where near the presence as Viacom, and Viacom got their a$$ handed to them by directv, so pac12 needs to get that through their heads. Directv will not set a bad precedent with the pac12, even if it means not carrying the channels. I'm afraid the same thing may keep the twc sports channels away for a while too.

My cable company is charter, so I am in the same boat as you. No other choice, even if I wanted one. I'd consider suspending my DIRECTV account and using cable for a couple months and get their Internet (it's supposed to be real good) to try it out if I could, especially if the same things happens with the twc channels.... But I can't even do that...

An option is to find someone, a relative (?), that has Cox, Bright House or TWC and have them set you up with access to their account. I have done that with my son. TWC let's additional accounts to be set up...so, I have my own ID and password.

Last night I posted a warning to get back to topic. This morning I had to do some cleanup. You may notice some of the posts after my warning are gone.

Get back to the topic at hand. Do NOT discuss other members. LEAVE THE PERSONAL COMMENTS OUT OF IT. Woe is (s)he who doesn't follow the rules.

I have a feeling this thread is played out but it'll stay open for those that are still interested.

I hope I've made myself clear.

I suppose that is possible, but highly unlikely. The only way most schools would have a football game and basketball game on the same day is if the football game is a bowl game or the basketball game is one of the made-for-TV matchups that is going to be carried nationally by ESPN or CBS. Even then, most schools work hard to ensure that if the games are on the same day, they do not overlap.

Now, overlaps of football or basketball with one of the non-revenue sports can happen, but even that happens more frequently during tournament time.

The article is about Uverse getting LHN, which may lead to DirecTV getting it.
I hope this is true regarding Uverse; they're my secondary provider.

I do not think I said that only DirecTV can lose - I said that DirecTV can only lose. The placement of the word "only" makes a big difference in the meaning of the sentence. The PAC 12 stands to gain or lose, depending on how this plays out, but DirecTV will always lose - it is just a matter of how much they will lose and whether they will lose more by carrying the PAC 12 or by not carrying the PAC 12. I think it is unlikely that incremental gains in subscribers by carrying the PAC 12 can possibly offset the cost.

The PAC 12, on the other hand can gain if they get on DirecTV without having to give away the product, or they can lose if they are not on DirecTV or if they are forced to lower the rates they charge all carriers based on what they will be forced to accept from DirecTV to get DirecTV to carry their network.

I'm with you! But I'll be ok as long as the games are on LP since I'm not in LA. I can't wait to see Nash's lobs to Dwight! Kobe gets 6!!!!!

ESPN Full Court is not in HD, but most of the games that are on ESPN Full Court are also available on one of the regional sports networks in HD. Does TWC offer the out-of-market sports networks in HD?

In any case.... there is a stalemate and there will be NO football on DirecTV this weekend. We'll have to see if they can come to an agreement NEXT week.

Exactly - there's a lot of good games this weekend besides the ridiculously lopsided Pac12 Network games.

Well, that's not fair either. Any college football game can be lopsided...and I would personally like to see the PAC-12 network added myself.

    Hopefully soon.

I hear ya :) And there will still be PAC12 football on DirecTV. It's 5 games this weekend out of 12, the other 7 are on other networks.

yep looks like Mike White is sticking with his statement of not adding all 7 channels. PAC12 should have asked for a National channel and an alternate channel initially.

Minor nitpick, but there's only 6 other games, not 7. The Nicholls State at Oregon State game has been postponed.

Also, the Nevada at California and SDSU at Washington games are not a lock to be one-sided. DirecTV really needs to get this deal done. It is an embarrassment that they won't agree to this. So it costs people a little more...it's worth it.
